“Great value and comfort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2010

I am at the Gold Coast Hotel as I type, using the free and fast internet in the Business Centre. There is also free purified water in here.

The Hotel is very nice, clean, and right on the South China Sea. There are also lots of affordable dining options a short walk from the hotel. The shuttle services to and from the airport and to and from dowtown Hong Kong make this quiet location also convenient.

For the price of a tiny and not so nice room in Kowloon, you can get a luxurious one here. I highly recommend staying here.

its a great hotel, would recommend it to anyone.
its abit out from the center of hong kong but theres public transport to the city.
we had a superb panoramic view of the marina and the South China Sea.
we booked flights separate and on a room only base. booked though their website and looked on their special offers for a deal on the stay.
staff were great, helped us alot with information regarding the public transport.

I used to stay in the HK Gold Coast Hotel 7-10 days every year since 2007, I believe it's the best value in HK, the green space and kids play area surround the hotel is very rare in Hong Kong, the GC piazza give a very French atmosphere.
The hotel is 20-30 minutes far of the down town, which is better if you like a quite atmosphere, also the hotel have several shuttle buses run until 11:00 PM to/from the major areas, plus an easy access to the public transport (bus #962 run 24 hours/day)
The beach is within 2 minutes’ walk which is amazing, the view from the windows is very beautiful.
Rooms are very cozy, clean and spacious.

Cons:
- Windows not open in the superior sea view rooms.
- Although most of the hotel staff are nice, but some of them a bit aggressive specially on the reception.
- Restaurants are overpriced.
- Internet service is not free and overpriced (HKD 120 per 24 hours)

Very good deal to be had here. If you holiday mid-week you can splurge for an affordable 50-60 euros. This includes a deluxe room with terrace/balcony and a marble bathroom, minibar and king size bed. The Jazz Champagne buffet on Sunday lunch is a must for bon vivants. A decent cover band knocks out Abba hits and other such staples. The environs are very holiday ready. A beach, pubs and alfresco eateries beckon. Over all a great location and excellent links to downtown HK. Good value.

The Gold Coast Hotel was very nice and just outside of downtown Hong Kong. The buffet was great, the pools looked nice (but it was too cold to swim). The hotel room itself was great, larger than a typical Asian room and had CNN and BBC (which I like to have on long business trips).

The hotel has a shuttle that charges a nominal fee and drops you off at their sister hotel right in the city. It would also do airport transfers for a fee.

There isn't a ton to do in the immediate area, but there was a park and a beach, as well as a few good restaurants and some shops around the corner.
It was extremely convenient. This hotel was nice and felt very safe.

Lovely spot this hotel right beside a beautiful long beach. And it's only a few minutes walk to some bars and places to eat. Don't expect to buy presents though, there really is nowhere. The hotel room was spacious and very comfortable bed. We had a lovely welcome with fresh fruit and orchids. The grounds are beautiful and lovely to walk around. The hotel is grand inside. The only down side it is expensive! All the restaurants are expensive and it's a lot even to sit and have a beer. The bus into Canton road was free and we really enjoyed our day trip here though it is very busy and it was a nice relief to get back to the hotel that evening.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel some time ago whilst visiting Hong Kong. The hotel is well finished and extremely clean and the staff can not do enough for you. The food was excellent and there was a good selection of entertainment in the evenings. The spa treatments are wonderful and the pool area offers a good opportunity to relax after a busy day exploring the city. The location was good and I have no hesitation in recommending it as a lovely place to stay should you be lucky enough to have the pleasure of visiting Hong Kong.
