Hopped on the MTR to central and walked a few blocks uphill to the Peak Tram. For $80 HKD we relieved admission onto the tram and the Sky Terrace. We were a bit early and the Sky Terrace 428 observation deck did not open until ten. The view was fabulous. It was extremely hot today (August 14). If you travel in August get there early or in the evening because the sun was relentless. We stayed for an hour, and the line was literally outside of the Tram terminal and wrapped around the block. The earlier the better, we had no line what so ever. We're off to lunch and the to the 10,000 Buddhas!

We took the taxi all the way up, but you can take the tram up, as long as you 're willing to be in a waiting line for over an hour. The view from there is second to none. Some good places for dinner and a few shops as well. It is a must go place.

We queued for about 45 mins but it was worth it. The tram climbs very steeply, so hold tight if you don't have a seat. We only really stayed in the Peak Tower, which is mainly a shopping mall with a viewing platform - the "market" there is a great place if you want to buy inexpensive gifts for people at home, and you can send your postcards from the Post Office here.

The Peak offers you a great view of Hong Kong and its beautiful surroundings. A variety of stores and restaurants are also located here. A nice place to spend some time, away from the busy city madness.
