A week later I still remember the fascinating history of Hong Kong. The exhibit combined artifacts, videos, and clear explanations, making it one of the better history museums I have been to (frame of reference: The Smithsonian)

Before you attempt to explore Hong Kong make this place your first visit and the rest of it will make so much more sense and your trip will have much more point to it. You'll leave with a better understanding of the culture.

One of the best history museums in the world. The display takes you from beginning of Hong Kong till present day. Its so well put together that at times you feel you are walking through a time tunnel. The displays are created as towns that you wander through. Throughout are archive movies in black and white of the era you are visiting. Good clean rest rooms and cafe. All exlpanations both in English and Chinese. Tickets are discounted for seniors over 65. Great way of visually learning about the history of the place you are touring. Also perfect for children.

Presents Hong Kong's history in a direct, insightful way. I had read up on the city before I came, so this place was a nice way to reinforce that knowledge. Of course it glances over some recent developments, but oh well.
