“Junk Market Open at Night”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

This is a pretty ordinary junk market, selling a lot of unremarkable products. Prices are fair (cheap for Westerners) and there is a lot of choice, but the products are low-quality and you can find them anywhere in Hong Kong and China for that matter.

The great thing though is that this market is open at night. All Western countries should learn from this and have more things open at night, and I'm grateful that Hong Kong is a pioneer in this area.

“Interesting but maybe not the best”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

I really enjoyed the trip to temple night market. I guess one of the big attractions was its at night and seems so alien to british culture. It was defiitely enjoyable but i found the wares to be slightly better at Stanley market.

“Nothing special”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

I went to the market tonight and was a bit disappointed as so many stalls had the same or similar products. Maybe I had the wrong idea but everything seemed to be mass-produced. It is interesting enough to do once but not something I would do again on a subsequent visit to Hong Kong..

Had hoped this was a bigger and nicer market but it's not so big quality of goods sold are poor.
The night market in mongkok is bigger but same materials.
Some place to eat but not so clean and many many people.
I don't know why such place appears on travveller must do list...
Is maybe to if never seen a street market but will not go there a second time.

“Essential Hong Kong experience”
Reviewed 10 June 2014 via mobile

A typical Asian market full of stalls hawkers and everything is negotiable. Go there to have fun debating prices with the locals but don't take yourself too seriously as it is pure entertainment. What makes this market different is the food. We has spicy prawns and asian greens with a good dose of local beer..all great tasting and excellent value. Don'be afaid to talk to the locals sitting next to you. They will redily help you choose from the menu with a smile.
