Caught the last tram going up at 9:30pm and it was a lot of fun! Couldn’t believe how steep it was! Too bad it was dark outside so couldn’t really see well. But the view at the peak was so breathtaking it’s a must-do in Hong Kong!

The tram service to the top of the Peak has been running for over 130 years, though the carriages now are an update on the originals, one of which is used as a Tourist Information Office at the Peak Tower Piazza. The journey to the top takes about 12/14 minutes, coming down slightly quicker. You can walk to its lower terminal from the Star ferry Pier in about 15/20 mins, though all uphill. We got the bus up, and only came down by the tram, but really enjoyed the experience. Very steep incline giving some wonderful fleeting glimpses of the City, on the way up & down. Don't know the cost as we had an Octopus card, but if you've prepaid or have a card you miss the queues at each, as ride very popular. Highly Recommended

Our tour group rode the tram to the top of Victoria peaks. A fun activity, and one that everyone should do once ! The best part of course is after arriving at the top. The right hand side going up is definitely the best view by the way !

The queue has disappeared since the tour groups from not to be mentioned country disappeared. ;-)
there are less than 10 people line up to board the tram on weekend noon.

Unfortunately the crowds in the morning will cost some time to get up. However you can take a taxi instead for about EUR 7 to the top. There you enjoy quiet times before the people rush up on the peak tram. You spend an hour or two up the gallery and new top sightseeing platform, and take the peak tram with no rush down to the city station.
