Description: The no reservation tapas bar 22 Ships has become one of Hong Kong hottest tables since opening in October 2012 - offering an eclectic menu of modern tapas, served in a buzzy yet relaxed setting, and a dynamic list of sherries, wines, spirits and Spanish beers. Using the best of both European and Asian ingredients, Michelin-star Chef Jason Atherton and 22 Ships’ Executive Chef Lee Westcott bring a modern touch to traditional classics. Westcott, who has strong a Michelin background and has worked with acclaimed chefs such as René Redzepi at Noma, was Head Chef at Tom Aikens Restaurant in London before taking up his role of leading the kitchen at 22 Ships

Dinner arranged by a friend. The restaurant is easy to find but small. Few tables and has bar sitting. It was crowded when we get there. Had to wait for 10mins. Had good range of menu. You can see the chef prepare your order if you sit by the bar. Pretty interesting. The presentation was beautiful. A little pricey, hey it's worth the try.

This is an awful place. The 36 month bellota ham is actually a machine cut proscuitto out of a plastic storage box. It came out grey and salty, nothing how bellota should be. At a price of $130 it certainly isn't bellota. Its strange because across the street at their other restaurant, Ham and Sherry, they do this dish correctly, serving it just cut from the ham. Its also double the price (as it should be).

Pimentos de pardon are presented as huge green peppers, not the small bite sized peppers they're supposed to be. Again across the street at Ham and Sherry, they do this dish correctly.

Squid salad was tasteless and forgettable.

Pork and foie gras burger consisted of small, juicy patties (no taste of foie gras) on a brioche bun. Yawn.

We we walking around, and the rain began, and of course it did not stop for a couple of days. But we were just passing by 22ships and it is really the best place to be at that time.

Chefs, are really good, put a lot of effort in all details (besides flavour of course), and you get a really good meal at a fair value for money rate.

Some hints.
- It is not cheap, but is it is not a pizza place.
- It is not Tapas, but what the british guys there understand of Spanish Tapas, so be open minded.
- Everything is good, don't worry.
- The sangria is very good (try it).

The selection is limited so that doesn't make it overwhelming. The food is average. No lemon slices to enhance the flavors as most of the tapas lacked salt. After the 1 st bite it was ordinary. It's expensive so won't be going back.
