“Small but perfectly formed”
Reviewed 14 April 2014

Hotel Indigo was a great discovery for me on Hong Kong Island and is situated very close to the heart of Wan Chai.

Funky, modern design room which although compact (by say US standards) had suffficient space and appeared light and airy.

The gym is small but has enough equipment for a worthwile work-out for the business traveller and then restaurant has a good mix or Asian and Western food with excellent service.

I recently stayed for a week at this hotel during the Rugby Sevens - it was excellent. The rooms are not large, but more than adequate and very well appointed. They are well designed to make the most of the available area and were clean and comfortable. The location is great, only a short stroll through a local market to the nearest MTR and bus stops are also located near by. Our group dined twice at the Chinese restaurant attached to the hotel, it was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful with ordering suggestions. The breakfast restaurant (Cafe Post) was also very good value and the food tasty. We also frequented the Sky Bar at the hotel (on the top floor) for pre-dinner drinks on several of the evenings there, it was very good, with interesting views of the local area. The staff were very helpful and made every effort to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. I will be staying there again next year for the Sevens and recommend it to all.

Clean, functional, good food (healthy choices), helpful staff. We were on 25th floor in corner room and if you looked between skyscrapers you had an ocean glimpse. Decent business lounge. Mixed neighbourhood. We walked down to the Peak tram and to the Aviary a couple of times. A few temples nearby - a market area next door - old Post Office opposite.
A chap called Vanco looked after us well in the dining room. Lots of places to eat nearby but many of dubious cleanliness. I am still suffering from enjoying a meal out when i smelled something bad and looked around to find an open sewer just behind where i was sitting. Anyway why eat out when you get a sensible waiter, Vanco, who seemed to have a sixth sense when anticipating our needs. Reception staff were mainly excellent but some of the ladies were very inexperienced. Overall suited our needs when in HK to attend a glorious wedding at the Jockey Club.

We were hoping for a two night stopover but a flight change meant we only had one night. So we wanted to make the most of our time. Our room was funky and as well as looking good was functional and spacious enough for our accumulated luggage. The staff were really helpful - great restaurant recommendation from Eric - and the breakfast was fab. Pool has a big wow factor. And the location was handy and interesting. We hope to return soon.

Hotel Indigo HK is a funky hotel with funky rooms in a funky neighbourhood. It is situated in Wanchai two minutes walk from the MTR Station (subway station) and very conveniently located.

We stayed in a twin room that had everything you need and there is a good element of design in the room and around the hotel.

The breakfast is good with a plentiful selection of hot and cold items, the rooftop bar is good with good views but was never busy, the pool was closed due to thunderstorms but looked superb.

We were here for the Hong Kong Sevens and it is one stop on the MTR to Causeway Bay Station and about a 10 minute walk to the stadium.

If you're looking for somewhere cheaper than Central hotels this must be a contender. I only hope the high standards are maintained over the years.

My fifth stay here in 6 months and another great experience.
The bathroom layout is quite open and a little strange, but I was travelling by myself so no real issue for me.

Staff are excellent, bar is quaint, rooms are well appointed and the beds comfy and showers nice.

It's hard for me to look elsewhere on the Island for my trips.

Only shame is that as a Gold IHG member I haven't had any benefits yet ! lol
No upgrade, nothing else yet.

Dear Nick H,

Thank you for choosing to stay with us again and it is great to know that our service impressed you. Being a Gold member, we truly appreciate your loyalty to InterContinental Hotels Group and Hotel Indigo Hong Kong Island. It is extremely important for us to ensure we adhere to the IHG Rewards global policy. Being such a small boutique hotel, we do not have the variety of room types that larger hotels can offer, which I do hope you can understand.
I do look forward to the opportunity to welcoming you back in the not too distant future.

With warm regards, Roy

I have stayed in a couple of Indigo Hotels now and they all have querky interiors and this one doesn't disappoint!
Love the open plan room and bathroom with floor to ceiling glass and the rooftop bar is great!
The best bit though is the pool which hangs over the edge of the roof with a glass bottom! Yup you feel like you are swimming in space!
A great hotel with the most attentive and plentiful staff! A lovely addition to Hong Kong's Hotel offerings@
