“Unexpected luxury and a comfy bed. What a combo!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

The foyer of this hotel, although small, sets the tone for the rest of it, being clean and modern, with extremely helpful staff, so check-in was swift. The room was welcoming, clean, spacious and modern. There has been much thought put into the layout of the room, with everything included that you could possibly want. The bathroom is a cunning arrangement of three spaces, nestled at one side of the room (there is a separate shower room and toilet, separated by the basin). It's all modern, in frosted glass. There is a separate office area behind the bed, with a desk, computer points and stationery (even paperclips!). There is a well-equipped and concealed mini bar hidden in a drawer, along with the glasses. tea and coffee-making was included. Lighting is varied, so that you can change the mood. There are also multiple switches so that ou do not have to get up to turn off the lights - once you figure out where all the switches are! The room was spacious, with ample storage and a small sitting area. But the real star of the show was the bed. This was the best and most comfortable bed of our entire 4 week trip. We slept like logs.

The suspended pool is quite unique. It is quite an experience to swim in a glass-bottomed pool, 29 stories above the busy streets. The pool area is popular, so be aware that there may not be enough sun-lounges for all the users.

We were given vouchers for a free drink at the Skybar and these were duly dispensed. However, we were offered a second drink on the house, but found that there had been a misunderstanding and we had to pay for the second one (and they were not cheap, either). The temperature in the bar was was too low, and it was freezing in there. This was our only down experience with the hotel.

The location is excellent. It is close to transport and there are ample shopping and dining opportunities. There is a street market in the next side-street and a food market close by. Our early-morning checkout was smooth.

I would recommend this hotel for its location, space and modern design.

Very new, well equipped, clean hotel. Trained and friendly staff. Everything perfectly clean. If you get somewhere a smart deal you stay for a reasonable price in Hong Kong. Close to public transport and many interesting places. Cool market and restaurants used by locals just in front of the door.

Just finished a 3 day business trip to Hong Kong and stayed in the Indigo. It's a great hotel and very convenient to the bus line to get to The Peak (15) and Stanley Bay (6). It's also not far from the Hopewell center where you can easily grab a cab to get anywhere on the island. The breakfast rate is also not bad, with lots of food options and great service. The infinity pool on the roof is a little small but it's relaxing and clean. The Skybar is also small but has friendly staff and is clean. The only down side is how small the fitness center is. Given that I was there on a business trip it would be nice if it was a bit bigger. Overall this hotel is very good for the price!

Room Tip: I had a room on the 8th floor and it was pretty quiet.

We stayed for two nights at Hotel Indigo, not aware of how convenient it is to the No. 15 bus that goes to and from the Peak. So we had a good trip to Victoria Peak (we really recommend the bus) while we were there. We also appreciated the hotel's proximity to the ladies' market-type stalls on Tai Yuan Street. It's easy to walk to the Wan Chai MTR and to most locations on Hennessey Road. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a corner room facing the mountain with a view of a uniquely-designed apartment building half-way up the mountain. The unusual mountain view added to the pleasing interior design of the room with a comfortable couch, red tea pot, cups, and mosaic wall. The large curtains on both sides of the room open and close by electric motor. The refrigerator, coffee maker, and hair dryer are good quality. The toilet and shower are separated from the bedroom by glass doors, so if the shower is being used, the sound of the water drowns out the TV, but this was a minor inconvenience. The room was always clean and neat, and there was no neighbor noise. The breakfast was good, but they ran out of butter and finally had to go to the cold store to get more butter when we bothered them for it. The blanket on the bed was so heavy that we could sleep only with the temperature at maximum cold. The staff at the reception desk were especially eager to help us. They brought taxis for us and gave us directions. We especially appreciated the early morning supervisor. She removed a charge that we felt should not have been made to our bill, and we know she did it as a courtesy. When we saw people wearing the Indigo uniform, we knew that we were secure in the hotel where they would attend to all of our needs. We feel the Indigo is an excellent value with wonderful customer service.

I spent a week at the Hotel Indigo in June and honestly didn't want to leave. Having stayed in many hotels in Hong Kong over the years, this was by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in at this price point. You're going to pay a lot, lot more for anything matching the Indigo.

Right from the start, the Indigo team impressed me with their friendliness, professionalism and efficiency. The reception staff were welcoming and had me checked in very quickly. They pointed out all the local attractions, nothing was ever too much trouble and always gave service with a smile.

My room was absolutely incredible. It was huge for Hong Kong. Most of the time, you end up in hotel rooms with very limited space. I loved the design touches; it more than lived up to my expectations from a boutique hotel. The bed was beautifully comfortable - a million times better than the hard bed I slept in the following week in a hotel on Kowloon side.

Breakfast was served in a little cafe / restaurant area on the first floor. The buffet choice was very good and generally the standard was impressive. As someone who appreciates and loves quality barista coffee, I was impressed by the standard.

The location was also excellent; it was an easy walk to the Convention Centre and to the local MTR. Wan Chai is also a discovery if you've only explored Kowloon and Central - retains a much more local feel if you avoid the seedier areas around the bars. There is a wonderful street market just one street down from the hotel. Great local eating places are within a five to ten minute walk - manageable even by a single woman traveller in high heels...

Thank you, Indigo team. I will be looking for any possible excuse to come back to stay.

As soon as you walk in (after a 4 minute walk from the wan chai metro station) you know you can finally relax.

The rooftop bar and pool area is unique and really cool. The breakfast area is done up in a euro-country theme, and the food is top notch, but on the pricy side.

I will stay here again and again, the location is perfect. Thanks indigo...

We've just returned from a 7 night stay at the Hotel Indigo and it was by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in. From start to finish the staff were friendly and accommodating and little touches like leaving a birthday cake and lovely message in the room for me on my birthday made our stay even more special! We were also able to use the shower facilities after we had checked out as our flight wasn't until late evening and we were really grateful for that. The room was beautiful, extremely comfortable bed and pillows, wonderful shower and great selection in the mini bar and free wi-fi is provided. Despite the busy central location there is a nice calm atmosphere as soon as you walk into the hotel and our room was completely soundproof. The rooftop pool is lovely and relaxing. The location was also great and I loved exploring old Wan Chai. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough and I hope to be back one day!
