This is a great option for travelers looking for a serviced apartment in a convenient location in Sheung Wan. The space is efficiently designed and comfortable. Rooms are bright and includes a small kitchenette with an induction stove, toaster, microwave, fridge and hot water pot. Bottled water, cups/bowls/plates, two pots, cutlery and utensils are provided as well. While the refrigerator is small, the freezer area was wide and deep enough to place produce in.
I needed to be in the room for most of the trip so I knew I wanted to stay in a quiet, bright, one bedroom space, with a kitchenette, that would not feel claustrophobic with two people. Thankfully it was a good decision. Also, I needed a space to be able to lounge, and the chaise style couch to watch TV in the living room, was perfect for this purpose. The design of the hotel is great as there is a nook for the kitchenette, and a living and dining area that is separated by a sliding door to the bedroom. This provides for a feeling of privacy between the two areas. Ample closet space and marbled bathrooms offer a good feel. Two A/c controls - one in the bedroom and in the living area is convenient as well. Bedding is comfortable and I slept well all of my nights there. There is a bit of noise outside on the weekend nights but this was not too bad even though I was on a lower floor.
You will need to tell the front desk when you want your room cleaned. After my first night, the room was not cleaned until 5pm. This was quickly rectified after I told them my request to clean the room earlier in the day. Bed linens and towels are changed once a week. Loccitane toiletries were nothing to write home about. Amenities include toothbrush/toothpaste/nail file/hair tie, cotton balls and a shower cap all in a small pack. Housekeeping may come on the weekend, and may not. No one seemed to know the schedule for housekeeping on the weekend.
Things to keep in mind-- the service at this hotel is a bit dismal. No one smiled when I checked in, and the front desk appearance seemed like this was the biggest chore to them to check me in. No one even assisted me with my luggage. I suspect they are poorly trained. Being a Hong Kong native, I didn't really need their assistance for getting around and sites, so I'm not sure how they are in directing tourists around the city. I considered giving the hotel a lower rating based on service alone, but I didn't depend on them enough for it to make a difference.
Garbage cans in the kitchen are too tiny to use, and the furniture, while nice, doesn't look cheap, but doesn't look/feel expensive either.
The location is great-- so many great places for coffee on Jervois street (three places), organic cafes, an italian deli, fresh juice place on queen's road and a delicious french rotisserie chicken place on hillier street. There's also a welcome supermarket down the street, the wet market down the block and a creperie too. Avoid all the Vietnamnese restaurants in the area. Went to West Villa a block away for dim sum and loved the old school canto restaurant feel. I loved the neighborhood because of the character. Its definitely not for everyone as you will pass by some super local stores and areas, but for me, its a nice change. Central is walking distance as is IFC. The tram and MTR are so conveniently near by and taxis are also easy to hail down.
The airport express bus H1 stops right in front of the hotel, so if you don't have too much luggage you can take the bus from the central airport express station to the hotel.
I will stay here again.
