“Nice”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

Visited last May. If you have seen everything and have a spare hour this is a nice place. Pleasant walk and nice views from the Buddha.

“Surprising nice.”
Reviewed 11 August 2014 via mobile

A surprisingly nice place . It was hot and humid the day I visited, it will be a more enjoyable experience if the weather is more cooling. Climb the stairs up to the giant Buddha statue to have a great view of the surrounding.

“Very relaxing”
Reviewed 8 August 2014

Beautiful gardens, very relaxing and peaceful, great place to escape the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. Opened 7 days a week, no entrance fee, small vegetarian cafe and tea house in the gardens. Tea house experience was great, took about 3 hours to sample all the teas we purchased, truly special experience.

“Renovation”
Reviewed 8 August 2014

When i visit the monastery, it was on work for renovation. Almost all buildings were not a picture perfect because of the poles/barriers used for the renovation. Hope the renovation will not last that long so that tourist can take a picture of it perfectly. It is also nice to experience Chinese culture and its religion.

“Tourist Trap - In a good way”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

I only had a short stay in Hong Kong, and was staying on Lantau, so this was an accessibly attraction for me. The cable car ride was relaxing, and would have been awesome on a clear day. There were an overwhelming number of people there, but the Big Buddha was really cool. The monastery itself was really cool too though - don't forget to stop by there. The shops are definitely set up for tourists, so be careful with prices, but overall a great experience.
