“A comfortable hotel that feels like it escaped from the pages of a "Chick Lit" book :)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2012

OK... If I'm calling it like I see it, this place wasn't designed for me.
I'm not saying that's a bad thing... not every hotel can smell of rich mahogany and leather settees.
There is no denying that there was some time and effort that went into the design and construction.
I will tell you the first thing I noticed was that the taxi dropped me off in front of the hotel, and I walked 2 blocks in the other direction because I didn't notice the tiny, dimly lit "Luxe Manor" sign at eye level.
When I did find it, and walked in, it smelled like cologne or perfume, but I really liked the smell, so that was a positive. I haven't noticed it in subsequent entrances.
The room ... well... cute. It's got a painted fireplace with a real hearth, a TV that no guy would put in his living room, in a gold picture frame (maybe 23'), the Mini-bar is in a cute little chest of drawers that has been modified to hold a little fridge, but the dang doors wont' stay open when you are peeking in the fridge, so it is a two handed affair to grab a beer or a soda.
Not the end of the world, but I'm just saying...
There are picture frames painted on the wall, and they look pretty cool, even with nothing in them.
The bathroom was functional and I liked the size and scope of the shower, but the nozzle had a few holes that were gunked up, so that the water shot out in a little side stream away from the rest, and it made it impossible to stand and relax under the warmth, because it kept spraying in your face, or bouncing off the wall. Also the water would occassionally go from comfortably steamy, to scalding hot, with no reason (nobody flushed or turned on the sink).
OK... enough complaining. To the good stuff!
The bed. Awesome. Firm and soft, nice down comforter, bodacious pillows.
The AC blew cold and the temp changed with the dial... awesome.
The staff was inspiring. Ironed clothes, shined shoes, hailed cabs, laughed at my bad jokes... Awesome.
Elevators were small and fast and knew your floor with you key-card. Great.
Silence. I was on the 10th floor, and didn't hear a noise for 4 days. Great.
Breakfast... great spread, fresh, good ingredients. Good coffee. Great.
I was there on a Sun and Mon and those nights were VERY quiet in the bar/lounge... not my choice. Also, while the food was great, the morning felt like a school cafeteria (see pic) OK
Had to stay an extra night, and my rate doubled...but I got to keep my room. Not happy,but...OK
This part of TST is not sexy, but it's close enough to the good stuff that you don't notice it. A TON of wedding shops within 3 blocks... I mean like 30. Which, explains why the hotel is the way it is.
Now, the real test... would I come back?
Yes.
Great bed, breakfast and service are 95% of a hotel experience for me... the rest is negotiable. See you for the conference next year!!

Room Tip: My room looked at a building, 10 feet away, I kept the curtains closed. Not important to me in a cit...

Extraordinary hotel, very well decorated and stylished. Located in the centre of Kwoloon (Tsim sha tsui), just near the metro and buses to go to important tourist places (Star Avenue, Museum, malls, etc.). Just a few steps from Nathan Road. Very careful staff. The Dada bar is a great place to have a drink but really too icy. Splendid room, very comfortable, spacious and clean but it was sometimes smelling cigarette (we suppose it was because of the air conditionning) and not well soundproofed. The scandinavian restaurant (Finds) was very good. You have your breakfast there (a surprising experience with excellent choice of occidental and asiatic food, hot and cold). There are a lot of restaurants and bars just behind the hotel. Impeccable service. Bed very comfortable. Full equiped bathroom. In conclusion, an excellent place to be in Hong Kong.

I booked this hotel for 2 nights, but after the first one I decided to choose another one. Room with very old forniture or vintage style. Location is ok. If you can choose another one, really really dont like this kind of hotel. In Hong Kong there are many hotel much much better than this one.

The Luxe Manor is located just a few minutes walk down Kimberley Road from Nathan Road, and in one of the busiest parts of Kowloon. Close to shops and restaurants it is a great place to stay. Tsim Sha Tsui MTR is 2 blocks (and about 10 minutes easy walk) and from there all of Hong Kong is accessible to you.

The hotel itself is really good value. The rooms aren't the biggest around, but big enough with all the things you need. They are whisper quiet, and with super comfortable beds, you can expect a good night sleep. The in room air conditioning does rattle a bit, but it may not be a problem in milder months. The decor is said to be "avant grade". I would be inclined to describe it as a little quirky ... and a little tired. Housekeeping is great and everything is very clean.

The hotel staff are very helpful and very friendly. Nothing seemed to be a trouble for them. It was a highlight of my stay. That said, you need to be careful that they understand what you are asking. While their spoken english is perfect, native english speakers may speak too quickly or with an accent that they don't entirely understand - and being so polite they may just say 'yes' instead of 'I'm sorry, I don't understand your question'. This is a problem throughout Hong Kong - at least in my experience.

For eating, I would recommend the buffet breakfast at the hotel. Very good, and with a huge selection. If you are at the hotel for a few days, try the restaurant, although my experience wasn't great. I found the food to be bland and expensive. There are plenty of local restaurants nearby, and hidden away in a lane behind the hotel there are about 10 very good restaurants including European (mostly Italian) cuisine.

I mentioned the MTR earlier in the review. This is a great way to get around. From Tsim Sha Tsui MTR it is just one stop to Jordan MTR and the Night Market and Jade Market, and 2 stops to the Ladies Market, sports and electronic stores around Yau Ma Tei MTR. Going across to the island is just as easy, just 2 stops to Central.

Small hotel. Clean, cool interiors, friendly employees. Breakfast was very nice, above expectation. Also a nice restaurant in the hotel. Very helpful staff. All spoke good english. Not many big public areas, more suitable for small groups

Highly enjoyed my stay at The Luxe Manor and my expectations were exceeded.
All of the hotel staff I experienced were extremely helpful from the chefs, to concierge, food & beverage team and cleaning team - all very friendly and willing to engage in conversation and to assist with any questions. Room was great very comfortable bed lovely linen, great bathrooms and the room was very quiet. Breakfast was extensive for a smaller boutique hotel - had a bit of everything and restaurant is a super popular spot with a great selection.
Definitely recommend this hotel is fun, something a little different, great service, food and beverage and in a great location.
