After spending few nights in a pigeon hole hotel, we moved in for a night at Kings de Nathan. Room is of decent size; at least I have some space to open my luggage and repack comfortably. Room is clean too.

Location wise, it is wonderful: just a block away from the Yau Ma Tei MTR station. Not too dodgy at night also as it is along the busy Nathan Road.

Would have given this hotel a 4 star rating if not because of one incident with the front desk which infuriated me. We were planning to leave to the ferry pier right after breakfast, thus we packed our luggages and went down to check out early. We intended to keep our luggages with the concierge for just 2 hours while we go for our breakfast. Little did we know that the front desk charged us to store each bag just because we have checked out! In fact, this is the first time I came across this kind of policy after I have travelled across Europe, US, and Asia. So I argued with the front desk young girl that we were guests and we were only keeping the luggage there for 2 hours. It is not about the luggage charge which upset me but this is NOT a way to treat a guest whom had just spent tons staying in your hotel. Plus, we were only intending to put our luggages there for 2 freaking hours while we go for breakfast!! To make things worse, this young female receptionist even dare to pull out the policy card which she did not even inform to us when we first check in!! If we would have known earlier, we would have just revise our plan.

I gave up arguing as it is just time-wasting and went on to pay the petty sum for the luggage storing charges. I did let the receptionist know that I was upset and I am going to file an official complaint for the bad guest service. I also made it known to her that I am going to write a bad review for this hotel in every travel website.

We stay there for a night .. The hotel is not big but is very clean. Room size is ok for Hong Kong standard. There is no proper restaurant at the hotel but just around the corner there are many eateries... There is a road side dim sum shop which has excellent 'Siew Mai'... Also many wan ton noodle and congee shop n etc.
At night, just 2 streets away is Temple St and the night market is located there. The Subway MTR is just 3 minutes walk away... There is a Circle K convenient store just next door and 2 more convenient stores just round the corner... It is just next to Nathan Rd so taking the A21 bus to airport is just plane convenient with the bus stop just outside the hotel...

We booked the hotel by Agoda, as per our flight is early morning we reach hotel at 11 am. the room not ready yet also the check-in time will be at 3 pm., we leave the luggage at the receptionist counter, before we leave we asking can we use the wash room, staff said on 3 floor but the wash room so small, dirty, but we have no choice we need to used it. I can say the comfort room in small restaurant even better.after that we leave the hotel to start our adventure.

We back from our adventure to the hotel around 10 pm the room is ready,we go up to our room, the elevator so small as we have 3 of us together with one each for the luggage. hard to find the place to stand.

Next day before we leave hotel for our second day adventure, we want to keep our valuable things inside safe box but the safe box not work we call staff, staff come to fix it but still can't fix that why we need to bring all valuable things together with us. We just have a feeling why don't they check it before guest check-in.

By third day, we plan to go to Macau in the evening but we need to check out in the morning because we afraid we can"t go back to the hotel before check out time, after we check out we ask staff is it possible if we leave the luggage at the hotel, they said can but with extra charge 10 hongkong dollar per luggage. It make us feel again why they need to charge us as of we are the hotel guest. But no choice we need to leave luggage with them 3 luggage 30 hongkong dollar.

Room Tip: We book for Family room. the location is good near MTR Ya Ma Tei. At the back of hotel is temple st...

Everything said by the earlier reviewers is true. The location of the hotel is excellent and the staff were very helpful (even helped us find local delicacies) but the room is very very small. I stayed in the triple room with my husband and two young children and it was too small for us. There is no space even to put our luggage. Do not book this room for a family of four even if you have small children. Nevertheless, the room is clean and the beds are comfortable. We only went to our room at night to sleep. As for the lift, it is small but not very slow. We stayed on the 10th floor and the longest it took was about 5 minutes. On another note, the hotel is not easily seen from the main road so make sure you have the address with you if you want to take bus A21 from the airport.

Like most hotels in Hong Kong, Kings de Nathan's room is small although my room cost me almost USD200.

However, like most, the room is clean. However, although it had a separate shower room, but it was only separate with a shower curtain, which will also make the whole toilet wet easily which I don't like. The soap dispenser is also faulty but since I am only staying 1 night here, I did not even bother to complaint.

We arrived the hotel at 9am, which obviously we won't have a room ready for us, and I dont mind as long as they can help me to keep my luggage :D

We went back at 1pm, and our room is ready. We were told that we were being given a family room instead which had 1 double bed and 1 single bed, which is good. However, with only 1 life in the hotel, it's quite troublesome sometimes especially since the lift is quite small and can't really accommodate more than 3 people full with luggage.

However, the location of the hotel is great. It's only like 1 minute away from the nearest subway station, and since the hotel is at temple street, at night it's full of stalls and street food.

1 minute walk from the hotel is also the bus stand for the but to the airport, which is really convenient.

Very Tiny hotel and room

The hotel design looks modern with dark theme nicely done in very limited space. Overall it is a fairly clean hotel but you will find this hotel and your room and bathroom very very small.

The room was quite too dark and small making three of us got hit to sharp corners in the room and shower. We found it was hardly possible to keep the floor dry because water was always splashed out from the tiny sink and shower. You will need to be careful for slippery. There was a strong undesired odour in the bathroom as well. There were no Shower cap , sanitary bag and cotton buds.

The location is fine. We were able to find foods and shops around us within walking distance.

This hotel asked for $500 deposit in cash. So you gotto spare some cash for this if you intend to bring cash just enough for food and other expenses. They also charged for $10 per any item for luggage storage even a small one placing on the luggage.

Overall it is an average hotel.

Like what the reviews said, there is only one very slow lift servicing the whole hotel, this is not a big issue for us because we usually use the lift during off peak hours. If you dont intend to stay in the hotel in the daytime but just to wash up and sleep, this hotel may be good for you. Location is really convenient. The room is very small, interior quite run down with a small tv... Typical budget hong kong hotel.. If you are going to hkg to have a good rest instead of going out often, then we would suggest you booking other hotels. :)
