“Average hotel at Low Price”
Reviewed 26 June 2011

We had a Deluxe room, which was far from my understanding of anything deluxe. It was minute at 22m2. Bed was rock hard. Staff very friendly and helpful. Free shuttle bus to Times Square where you can shop or get the MTR (tube/metro), though in truth you can walk it almost as quickly (about 5-10 minute walk). Also an infrequent shuttle to Central.

It is a fantastic location for Happy Valley races (a must on a Wednesday evening) and ok for Wanchai, but a bit of a way from most of Hong Kong. That said, transport in HK is so cheap and plentiful that it it doesn't really matter.

Cosmopolitan Hotel features 10 room categories equipped with different room size and amenities to suit every traveler’s need. We understand that sleeping is should be a very personalized activity hence we are delighted to offer a soft stopper upon request if the guest find the bed too much of a support.
Location-wise, the hotel is an 8-min walk or 5-min ride to nearby Times Square, where it is also accessible by hotel free shuttle bus. Our shuttle service network cover the rest of Hong Kong Island including Central, Wan Chai, Admiralty, Quarry Bay, etc.
As we are right opposite to Happy Valley Race Course, most of our rooms capture the greenery and/or city skyline. Hope you will enjoy the race at night next time you stay with us!

This was the third time I have stayed at the Cosmopolitan Hotel.

Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to Causeway Bay shopping district and Wan Chai. There is also a tram stop directly in front of hotel.

Rooms are furnished in simply contemporary style giving a modern feel. Staff a very polite and courteous. The lobby has free WiFi and the hotel has a small but adequate gym.

The is also salon next to the hotel open to late offering excellent reflexology.

This hotel represents excellent value for money and is highly recommended for visitors wishing to stay close to Causeway Bay.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my sister on our way back to Australia from the UK. Lovely hotel, great staff, really good location and really appreciated the free shuttle bus that dropped off and picked up at many locations around the city. Would definately stay again.

The hotel was very clean and well presented. Staff were extremely helpful and polite, if they could help in anyway they would.

The evening barman Conrad was exceptional great at giving advice of places to go, see, eat and relax. Make sure you also try one of his lychee cocktails.

Room Tip: Happy Valley race view room was fab

Very nice hotel and friendly staff. Lobby is nice and has free wifi. We stayed for 4 nights and unfortunately our room was very small and had a frosted window so that we could not see out at all. We had some friends stay for one night in the same hotel on a different floor and their room was larger with larger bed and had a nice view towards the peak without a frosted window. Wish we would have asked for a different room after seeing ours but we checked in very early due to an early overnight flight arrival. Everything was great with the hotel otherwise. The bar in the lobby is very expensive for beer, so be aware. Would be nice if wifi was free in rooms and not just the lobby.

Thank you for your comments on our hotel and friendly staff! Free Wifi is available in all hotel public areas including the lobby and restaurant. Our 454 rooms are sectored into 7 categories having different sizes and views with most of them overlooking the race course greenery or city skyline. Frosted windows in some rooms are a matter of design for more privacy inside the room. For detailed room information, our reservations team will be more than delighted to explain/recommend the best appropriate room for you at the time of booking. Or else if a room change is desired during the stay, guest can approach our 24-hr on duty guest services manager anytime for arrangement. The pricing of drinks in the 3T bar is actually in line with other hotels of the same class in the same area. We thank you for your comments of Wifi in guest rooms and hope to see you soon again!

The Cosmopolitan hotel satisfied the regular needs that you need as a traveller.

The room was perhaps a bit small, but still sufficient if you only need it to sleep at night. I had a small desk and a flatscreen tv. The bathroom is small as well, but overall very good. To be honest, I didn't expect large hotel rooms in the human-packed city that Hong Kong is, so the room was okay.

Breakfast-buffet was excellent. A lot of choice, and in a spacious restaurant.

Regarding location: the hotel is not directly nearby a subway station, but (1) you can reach the nearast subway station easily on foot within like 5 to 7 minutes, or (2) you can make use of a free shuttle that runs between the hotel and that subway station. Check the hotel website for the schedule. Anyway, I usually went on foot because the walk isn't that far. They also have a shuttle that goes by the convention center, which is great in the early evening (during my time of stay, they had a nice light show on the river banks there).

Overall, I would stay in the hotel again!

Good to know: the "Airport Express" is the best way to travel from the airport to the city. It's cheap and very convenient. The station is located in the airport, and I took the express to the "Hong Kong station" on Hong Kong Island. From there the easiest thing is to take a taxi to the hotel (much cheaper than taking a taxi from the airport).

Also very interesting: when you take the Airport Express back to the airport, you can check in all of your luggage at the Hong Kong station! That was very convenient: I had to take an evening flight, so after checking-out of the hotel I could go to the station with the free hotel shuttle, get rid of all my bags, and cruise the city for the rest of the day!
