“Nice hotel, it makes me love Hong Kong Island”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

This hotel is located in between Wan Chai and Causeway Bay in Hong Kong island. It is a very strategic location, because you have a chance to enjoy many many nice food in those two areas. The hotel room is clean, tidy, good service with free shuttle bus service provided to four nearby MRT station : Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Admiralty and Central's MRT (you need at short walk of 1-3 minutes from the dropping point to MRT station). However, without the shuttle bus service, you need to walk for 15 minutes from hotel to Causeway Bay MRT and 20 minutes of walk from hotel to Wan Chai MRT station. Thus, i would like to suggest for improvement - increase the numbers of shuttle bus at various time to make it more frequent. Anyway, i will still recommend this hotel to others.

Room Tip: Choose a room with city view, it is nice

Although it is not within walking distance to major shopping centres, but there is hotel shuttle bus service, its Q is short, wait is not long. We stayed in a double double queen bed room, comfortable for a family of 4. Room is clean and tidy, quiet for resting. The breakfast was good, we have enjoyed our breakfast daily before venturing out.

Room Tip: Approach hotel staff to get coach service to airport instead of spending money to catch a cab. Wake...

Had a great experience at the Cosmopolitan. Best partwas the free "handy" cellphone. A totally free smartphone for you to use during your stay with 3g, google maps, facebook, and free phone local and international calls! Could not have been a more pleasant bonus, especially for someone travelling from overseas. I hope more hotels start offering this service, as it would definitely influence my booking again.

Rooms were decent, nothing fancy but decent value. The location was ok, still a bit of a walk to the train (especially with a child) so we took a taxi most times. Overall quiet and comfortable beds. A/C was almost too cold, we couldn't seem to adjust it to be less cold. No pool, which would have been nice for the kids, but with a family room they did offer a DVD player and some plush toys and small rocking horse which my daughter loved.

I recently stayed at this hotel for 8 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were in a refurbished room and found it to be very comfortable. The in-room facilities were good (bathroom, safe, mini bar etc) and the bed very comfortable. By far the best thing in the room was the "Handy" mobile phone. This went with us everywhere and gave us free wifi anywhere in Hong Kong and free local and certain international calls. Absolute winner.

One area which could be improved is the breakfast. Whilst absolutely adequate, it was unchanged for 8 days and became boring.

Located 10 minutes walk from Times Square shopping mall and other central destinations. Shuttle bus is a great service to use. Stayed in standard twin room which was spacious for Hong Kong standard, but shower with a curtain is a huge no no. The very thoughtful and unexpected touch was in room cell phone with free calls to US, UK, Hong Kong, China and Singapore. Very handy if you are staying on business. In room internet is very fast, however I recommend booking it together with the room, otherwise it costs more than USD$100. Free internet in the lobby. The walls of the hotel are quite thin and we could even hear people talking next door! The check in was super fast and the staff was quite helpful after check out, giving us free bottle of water.
Overall, satisfied with the hotel, would stay there for a short time, not for long.

Room Tip: Be warned the walls are quite thin.

Hotel is clean and rather spacious (stayed in a family deluxe room). I love the shuttle buses provided by the hotel, making travelling around Hong Kong so much easier as the buses go to several locations. Hotel was also super kind to provide a phone with mobile data, making it convenient to travel around Hong Kong, especially if you are travelling in a group. My favourite thing about this hotel is the staff. ALL THE STAFF ARE SO FRIENDLY (Y) From the receptionists at the reception desk, to the staff at the concierge counter who helped us booked at cab to the airport at 3am in the morning, to the kind electrician who came up to fix the light in the closet and last but not least, the kind bellboys. Special mention to one of the bellboys (bespectacled, hair combed upwards) who was on duty in the morning on 11/6/14 as he was very forthcoming in assisting me in finding my way to my destination. Kudos to the hotel for having such staff, they are very crucial in making my stay very enjoyable. Thanks for the great service provided!

Room Tip: Request for room that doesn't face the cemetery.

The hotel is very central and easy to get to most other parts of Hong Kong. They have a shuttle service which is also handy.

The hotel room, booked as a family room was simply 2 double beds.... not what was expected as a "family suite" at all. The carpets were older and stained, but the room was clean and the beds comfortable. We changed room for a slightly larger room with a cot and paid $800 HKD for this, which was a disappointment.

The breakfast included was pretty good standard buffet fare for most of the larger hotels. The hotel restaurant was mediocre and expensive. Wifi worked well and they had a local phone as part of the room which was handy for internet.

All in all, reasonably priced and good value for an average room, or slightly overpriced and not ideal for a family trip.
