“Comfortable hotel & good service in a good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 December 2010

This is a really good deal for an expensive city. Customer service was excellent. When we checked in we got a smoking room that overlooked a cemetery! The windows had been "frosted over" in order to prevent one from seeing the cemetery. The staff was very accommodating despite being extremely busy. For a reasonable price increase, they moved us to a non-smoking room with a great view of the Happy Valley Racecourse. We spent more time watching the football matches from our window than watching TV! The restaurant is comfortable and serves a variety of breakfasts including vegetarian fare and English breakfast items as well as congee and dimsum. We would stay here again if we take another trip to Hong Kong. The only slight drawbacks are that the MTR is about a 10 minute walk and the closest bar is about a 5 - 10 minute walk. Wi-Fi is free in the lobby.

Thank you for liking our service and location! We are pleased to learn that you enjoyed staying in our course view room. Housing 454 rooms, Cosmopolitan has 7 room categories featuring different room sizes and views hoping to accommodate travelers for different purposes. Windows in certain rooms are frosted as a feature of design and to offer a higher level of privacy for room guests. To keep your stomach happy, our restaurant on 1/F serves breakfast, lunch and dinner along with both Chinese and western delicacies under a comfortable and elegant atmosphere with sincere service. Free WIFI is accessible here in the restaurant and also in other public areas such as hotel lobby.
Location-wise, we are just an 8-min walk from Times Square/Causeway Bay MTR station. Free shuttle service is available to and from Times Square (5-min ride), and other 15 destinations in Wan Chai, Admiralty, Central, etc. Walking to Wan Chai is only 5 minutes where night bars and specialty restaurants are nestled.

My family had stayred in Cosmopolitan Hotel for a whole week.
Our bedsheet will not change at all thru out the entire week! Thus, we develop itch & rashes. The pillows will so soft that u will need to stalk three of them to have a better sleep. The housekeepers will always forget to replace certain needs each day like bath towels, that I have to keep going after them. Though the hotel comes with free daily breakfast, the food will not change mostly & u'll be sick of the food given. We ended up eating outside. The staff will not that friendly & helpful either. The hotel is 15 mins walk to Causeway Bay MTR, it is consider far to walk after a long tiring day. Futhermore, there are not much nice food & attraction nearby. I would suggest one to get a hotel along Mong Kok to Tsim Sha Tsui.

Being a socially responsible organization, Cosmopolitan Hotel has implemented a set of green policy in order to support environment conservation and reserve resources in which changing bed sheets only when required is one of them. In order to deliver a clearer notification, an environmental protection card stating the green policy is placed on the bedside table in which advice on how to get the bed linen changed is included therewith. The fact is, our room attendant will be more than happy to change the bed linen upon guest’s request while at the same token, replenishment of bathroom amenities is also welcome upon request.

For the pillow issue, guest can always approach our 24-hr duty guest services manager for any need. As a matter of fact, our hotel offer a free pillow menu for all in-house guests providing 11 different kinds – the widest menu in town - from a choice of feather, foam, bolster, buckwheat, non-allergenic, scented pillows, etc. The hotel also features a special, tailor-made Eco Pillow which adapts perfectly to the curves of neck and shoulders – an all time favourite.

Our restaurant provides a variety of morning delicacies including cold cuts and hot dishes from the East and West hoping to please every appetite and the restaurant staff are professionally trained to serve at best.

Location-wise, the hotel is located amid Causeway Bay and Wan Chai and it’s only an 8-min walk from Times Square and Causeway Bay MTR station and an 5-min walk from Wan Chai district centre. Both areas are famous for the wide restaurant choices and fun shopping experience. Free shuttle service is also provided to Times Square (5-min ride) and all major shopping centres on Hong Kong Island including Pacific Place in Admiralty, IFC Mall in Central, CityPlaza in Quarry Bay etc. Public bus stop is also found close to us taking guests to the Kowloon side e.g. Tsim Sha Tsui within 5-10 minutes ride.

Cosmopolitan Hotel is located, thankfully, away from the sea of humanity and shops at Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui. Yet the MTR station and TImes Square are a 10-minute walk away or a quick ride on the hotel shuttle. For those who love the tram (double-decker street cars), it stops in front of the hotel and goes to Central for about 25 cents USD.

Costwise, I stayed for 2 weeks and my long-stay package of $120/night includes taxes, daily laundry allowance up to $13, free local calls, etc. My room is a spacious deluxe one with view. The staff, especially room attendants, are courteous and efficient.

We are often described as a pullover zone for some tranquil rest after a day of sightseeing excitement. Located amid Causeway Bay and Wan Chai, the hotel is only an 8-min walk from Times Square and Causeway Bay MTR station while free shuttle service is provided for hotel guests to Times Square (5-min ride) and other parts in Wan Chai, Admiralty, Central, etc. Public bus is found close to the hotel taking passengers to Tsim Sha Tsui just a cross harbour tunnel away at only 5-10 minutes. If conventional transportation is what after, a tram stop is literally located just outside Cosmopolitan taking travelers to sight see around Hong Kong Island at a cheap price of HK$2 per person. Hong Kong Tourism Board has also published a Ding Ding Guide introducing this preservative way of transportation and some attractions en route.
We understand that staying in a hotel with good value feels better than an ice-cream cone topped up with chocolate sprinkle hence Cosmopolitan offers a number of valued room packages for travelers to consider. Most of the 454 hotel rooms over look the race course green field or city skyline while we thank you for your good comments on our staff service! See you again soon!

As a returning guest, the Cosmopolitan always try to accomodate me as best as they can. The hotel seems to be full this time, and my room is overlooking a cemetery, so they put me on the highest floor. Fortunately for the hotel they are full, but unfortunately for me, I can't be changed to a different room, but Mr. Kane at the first desk, did whatever he could to make up for it. I will always come back here for the location, the value and for he wonderful servicde they offer here.

At Cosmopolitan, we try to accommodate every guest at the best we can from the moment the reservation is made. We understand that every guest has their own special need, so our hotel has designed 7 room categories differing from room sizes and views and most of the rooms overlook the race course green field and the city skyline.
We are very happy you appreciate our staff Kane for his helpfulness, and we have already passed your good words to him. We hope that our advantageous location, good value and the wonderful service will soon bring you to the Michelin Guide recommended Cosmopolitan Hotel again!

We are most grateful to hear you like us in every way! Indeed, we are close to everything a traveler would need. We always recommend our guests to do morning exercise or do jogging in the race track at Jockey Club and all of them love it! Our high level cleanliness has made a very comfortable environment for our guests to stay in and has also won us a name in the newly-published Michelin Guide 2011 as a comfortable hotel in Hong Kong – 3rd time in a row!

Our location is another good for we are amid engaging Causeway Bay and Wan Chai. Our free hotel shuttle operates to bring hotel guests to Times Square/Causeway Bay MTR station (8-min walk or 5-min ride) and other 15 destinations including all major shopping centres e.g. Pacific Place in Admiralty, IFC Mall in Central, CityPlaza in Quarry Bay, etc. The tram stop outside the hotel provides a historical way to experience Hong Kong at a cheap price of HK$2 per passenger. Hong Kong Tourism Board has also published a Ding Ding Guide introducing this preservative way of transportation and some attractions en route.

Hope we are perfect for you this time and many more times to come!

I love the hotel location. I like to walk around, and there is decent walking distance from the hotel to the shopping "heavan" - Causeway Bay, as well as to access local eateries in Wan Chai. Within 15 minutes taxi drive (provided that no traffic jam), you can reach HK Airport Express station, Ocean Park, Central Landmark...
If you are not familiar with the nearby areas, and do not want to walk, just follow the free shuttle bus provided by the hotel, which will bring u to nearly shopping areas.
The staff there are very caring and helpful. When I asked about the Noah's Ark, the hotel staff helped me to print the information to send to my room, not only the general information, such as the key features and operating hours of the attraction, as well as the time tables of varous transportation to reach or leave from there.
They provide good breakfast too, with a mix selection of HK dim sum, and international buffet. Yummy.

Thank you for your wonderful comments on us and loving our location! Indeed, we are close to Causeway Bay where travelers will find there nestled with shopping mania. Shuttle bus – one of our most favourite services - operates complimentarily for hotel guests taking them to Times Square/Causeway Bay MTR station (8-min by walk and within 5-min ride) and all other major shopping centres on Hong Kong Island including Pacific Place@Admiralty, IFC Mall@Central, CityPlaza@Quarry Bay, etc. It also stops at Airport Express Line Hong Kong Station in Central to make it heading to the airport more convenient.

Our staff are all professionally trained and deal with every problem just as their own. We are happy to learn that you are pleased with the information provided and hope that you did have a great day at Noah’s Ark! It’s also good that you love our breakfast, hope it kicked a good start to your day!

I have stayed at the Cosmopolitan several times in the past and have encouraged staff to stay there as we have strong business connections in HK. The hotel is in a good location and through their web-site offer some very good promotions.
However on my most recent visit, my flight home departed at 23:30 which meant check out at 12:00 and my returning to collect luggage before setting off for the airport.I had been informed by hotel staff that a room was available for me to get a quick change of clothes. On return to the hotel, I found this room was actually the toilet on the first floor. The same toilets that those enjoying the hotels karaoke rooms were using! Were I to go in there with my suitcase, there simply wouldn't be any room for any hard drinking Elvis Presley wannabe to use the much needed facilities! Many a hotel will tell you that you should be made to feel like you are a guest. Well I would never ask a guest to my home to get changed in the toilet whilst strangers came and went about their business next to them! All in all, this soured my stay as I felt that having checked out I was no longer welcome or worthy of consideration. My offices in Sheung Wan tell me there are better hotels nearer the office and until now I resisted the temptation to test their assessment. I'm afraid that next time I visit HK, I will give it a try.

We have always endeavored to care and think for our guests as our own friend and I feel reluctant to learn of your recent encounter. Our team of staff is professionally trained to provide quality service and I am sure a late check-out would be happily arranged (if occupancy allows and cost may incur on a case by case basis). Alternatively, we have a more spacious private bathroom inside the Gym Room on 2/F for guests to refresh and for sure there will not be other guests next door.

At Cosmopolitan, we truly wish to build friendship with our guests and to satisfy every need they are after. Please trust that your encounter is an exceptional case due to a lapse of communication. We understand that this might influence your choice with us in some way, yet we will take every problem seriously and ensure that similar problem will not occur again.
We sincerely hope you will still consider us next time. Our website will launch some nice offers from time to time.
