“You get what you pay for”
Reviewed 4 January 2013

In a city known for astronomical hotel rates, the Hotel Panorama in Tsim Sha Tsui is a moderately-priced option with good views of the famed harbour IF you pay for it or IF you are lucky enough at check-in to be given a room with a view. I booked and prepaid for 2 non-smoking rooms supposedly with harbour views almost 7 months before my intended check-in date. When I checked-in just before New Year's Eve, we were allocated smoking rooms which to me were unacceptable. So I politely asked for the rooms to be changed to non-smoking ones which meant that we had to endure a long wait...we were able to occupy the rooms at 4 p.m. The reception staff were not very friendly or accommodating presumably because the hotel was immensely busy during the holidays and this was taking it's toll on them.
Anyway, the rooms allocated to us had obstructed but generally acceptable views of the harbour. I no longer wanted to nitpick regarding this because we were already quite tired from the trip and it was just a relief to enter the rooms at that point. Thankfully, the room was comfortable and had all the amenities one will need for a short stay in Hong Kong. The bathroom, although small, was acceptable as well. Later that evening, I found out how supremely comfortable the bed, duvet, and pillows were.
The inclusive breakfast was served in the cafe at the reception level. The restaurant was so small that the buffet tables were set up in the hotel lobby. Both the lobby and the restaurant were small...and by small I mean small, not intimate.
The fitness center on the ground level is in a separate building within the hotel compound. Much to my surprise, it is adequately-sized and well-equipped.
Staff attitude all over the hotel ranges from warm to distant. We stayed for 5 days so we felt welcomed on some days, dismissed and ignored on other days.
Hotel rates in this very expensive (and sometimes very inhospitable) city can sometimes be an indication of the level of service one will get. I've been treated quite well in some hotels in Hong Kong but I've also paid very, very dearly for my stay there. Since I paid a reasonable amount per room per night at Hotel Panorama, I guess it shouldn't surprise me that I also got spotty service in return.
Would I return to Hotel Panorama? Probably not.

We stayed here in December and were really impressed by the hotel. The rooms were alot bigger than we were expecting after reading many review about HK hotels in general - we were also upgraded for free which was a nice bonus. Our room had a great view of the harbour and the light show each night was amazing (even better from the 40th floor garden).
The only downside to the hotel was actually finding the place! From the airport we took the A21 bus to Mody Road/Chatham road south, then walked to the hotel - maybe a 3 or 4 min walk, certainly easy to do with luggage and 2 kids. Hart Ave is a little strange as it turns round on itself and we walked around in circles a few times before asking someone and then found it easily. Very close to the Tsim Sha Tsui East MTR, literally just around the corner, a 1 min walk - this links through to the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR. All in all a very pleasant stay and we would stay again for the very reasonable price, large clean rooms and great location.

Six couples from Australia booked club roomsfor four nights and we were not disappointed with what we found when we arrived at the Hotel Panorama. The views from our rooms and also the club lounge and AVA restaurant were exceptional to the point where we decided to stay in the club lounge and celebrate NYE watching the light show and fireworks and we were not disappointed. The staff throughout the hotel are very helpful and location is close to everything.
Would definitely stay here again next time we are in Hong Kong.

Room Tip: Club rooms are on higher levels and include breakfast and cocktails in the evenings.

This hotel offers great views however if you like living in a small box this one is for you. Hotel is in a small lane way next to a new shopping complex and indepently owned bars and coffee shops. About 150m from Nathan road ths hotel is in good proximity to transport. The lobby offers wifi with not much seating if your looking just to lounge around. The room was small however it was equipped with all you needed. All n all good stay at a fair price.

Room Tip: Higher floor for better views

Strategically located near the MTR, and easily accessible places to shopping malls, and nearby streets that offer a wide range of dessert and eatery. The service crew are excellent too. When we’re leaving the hotel, they suggested that we take a cab and one of the guys even went out to hail a cab for us.

Review for swimming pool & spa was selected as “neutral” as I didn’t try any of it.

Room Tip: Rooms are generally pretty small. To have a bigger room, means you need to upgrade to a higher packa...

The hotel is situated close to it all, clean and tidy housekeeping, has all what you need in the room, great wiew, big comfy bed, helpful employers and low profile. Excellent choice. The only minus is the food. Quite ok, but not any wow factor.
Ps. We had the upgraded club choice. Free wifi makes it worth it alone!
Ps again. There is a dry cleaning store right outside the hotel. Need your clothes washed or dry cleaned during the stay, I can recommend them. Fast, cheap and good work. Two hours, 35 HK dollars ( one plastic bag) and fresh as new.
Ps once more. The tailor right outside is also recommended. Fast, polite and serious. My hubby bought a suit and a couple of shirts for a nice price and good work. He came too late for an adjusting appointement once and offered to pay 500 HK extra, but the tailor said absolutely no even for the extra working hours and waiting.

Room Tip: Ask for a nice wiew.

After disembarking from a cruise, we wanted a central hotel close to Nathan Street with a view of Hong Kong Island and the laser show at 8pm. All the rooms face HK Island - get one above the 20th floor or higher. Besides being well kept, clean and extremely well serviced, it has a "Happy Hour" facility and a vantage lookout area on the 40th floor, an ideal position to view the cityscape of HK Island and the laser show. Food was good, breakfasts plentiful and tours easily obtainable on the ground floor. HK Metro is close by and easy to navigate

Room Tip: The higher the better
