“Fun for the family”
Reviewed 17 January 2013

Well worth the stay for the Disnruland experience. We spent 2 days at the park which was enough for us and had two days to do other stuff. In retrospect should have moved to another hotel closer to the city for last two days as this area is a little out of the way. Hotel clean and tidy, room was big enough for family of 4 in sea view with balcony. Pool outside closed for reno but as it is winter, that's fine. Several food options, breakfast in enchanted garden with characters definately worth it. Disappointed that we didn't see any princesses at the hotel. Some slight language barriers, but to be expected in another country. If you go out in a cab, take a business cards with you that say disneyland hotel in Chinese. One taxi we got into didn't know what we were trying to tell him, I just showed him the card I happened to have in my pocket and we were off.

I stayed a night at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel during a recent trip to the region. I've stayed at over a dozen Disney hotels and I was happy to see this keeps many of the positive aspects of a Disney brand hotel.

The overall design is similar to the Grand Floridian, however it takes on even more victorian aspects. The lobby and grounds are beautiful and the view in both directions is breathtaking. At the time the outdoor pool and bar were closed for the season but it certainly looked like a Disney-level pool.

I checked in very early in the day and they give you a paper to return for your key later. Check in was very easy and they stored my bags so I could visit the park. Later when I returned they informed me I had been upgraded to the Kingdom Club level. I thought this was great but the room I registered was Sea view and this one was facing the mountains. Still good enough.

The room is quite nice and very similar to the american resorts. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet except for the plumbing.

A minor design flaw is the small window between the shower and the bed room. I like to leave the bathroom light on in case I need to find my way there in the night and this didn't allow for that.

Walking to the park is easy down quite a nice path. I tried the bus but it didn't seem more efficient.

Overall the hotel is quite nice and not too overpriced. If I could improve anything it would be to add some of the amenities of the western versions like and arcade, and quick service restaurant.

We visited here in April 2011. Nice place although is expensive and quite far from central town. Had great photo opportunities with disney characters but suggest visiting other disney outlets first before visiting Disney Orlando. We had done Disney/Universal Orlando first, others are hard to compare. Loved the maze garden and view of the beach. Could take a ferry across but we had tours arranged. Loved the trip to visit the Biggest outdoor budha. Was overall a good experience. Loved the Manchester United Restuarant.

The Hotel has a very nice, nostalgic look which is a throw back to the hotels of the 1920's and 30's. Since we were traveling with 2 young boys,it was only a short ride from the airport and it was also very convenient for us to get to and back to the hotel from the amusement park as the park shuttle bus will pick you up and drop you off at the hotel. The rooms are spacious enough for a 2 adults with 2 kids without requiring an extra bed. The beds were big and comfortable. The rooms came with complimentary use of HK Disney bath robes and bedroom slippers, even for the little ones. The bathrooms had both shower and bathtub.

The hotel offers money changing services at the front desk. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet at the enchanted forest cafe is a must when traveling with kids. The food was good and the variety quite decent ranging from asian (congee, dimsum, noodles, etc) to your more regular, western fare (e.g. sausages, hash browns, waffles, cereal, fruit, etc). However, the main attraction of this cafe are the mascots that visit your table and interact with the kids. The reaction and facial expressions of my kids were priceless. They still talk about that experience now, long after our trip.

Another great thing about staying at a Disney hotel in HK is that you can have the merchandise you purchased at the park delivered straight to the hotel. No more having to lug that t-shirt for your sister or that remote controlled jeep your son convinced you to buy all around the park. Also, if you forget to buy something at the HK Disneyland, the hotel has an off-park store at the lobby which carries a good selection of items from the park.

The hotel also has a garden maze at the back of the hotel where the kids can run around and explore. There is also a child activity center where kids can play with other kids at the hotel supervised by the friendly hotel staff. The kids can even get a bedtime story told to them before turning in at night.

For the adults who want to go shopping, HK Disney is only 2 stops away (around 7 kilometers) from the outlet stores at Citygate mall in Tung Chung. The only downside I can say about this place is that it is a bit expensive. However, what price tag can you put on having great memories with your family?

We live in Hong Kong so it is easy to take the train for an overnight stay. The resort is world class, very grand, very palatial, very clean and comfortable. Right now is the perfect time as it is so quiet and we have been given an upgrade. The outdoor pool is empty as it is winter but the indoor pool is warm and the spa is divine. The kids love the outdoor maze, the breakfast buffet, the quirky Disney extras. If visiting HK Disney I would recommend a stay if your time and pocket can afford it. Tickets to Disneyland are included in the price and a shuttle bus will take you there from the front door. You can even pay extra to have breakfast or bedtime stories with princesses or Mickey and the crew. It is worth trying once in your life.

This is our second time to stay at HK Disneyland Hotel and as expected we received the same quality of service. The rooms are clean, room service prompt and courteous. Check-in was a breeze and luggage storage was efficient. It didnt matter that we were all full grown adults in our 30s and 60s, we still loved the hotel as it brought out the kids in us. We loved meeting the princesses in the lobby and took pictures with them. The Christmas decor all around was also very lovely. All in all, we will definitely stay at this hotel again.
