“Good for a short trip with kids”
Reviewed 10 January 2014

We went in the second week of january 2014 and stayed at the Kingdom club room at the HK disneyland hotel.

Booking: we booked over the phone and was lucky enough to get someone who was able to converse in passable english. The hotel does provide for airport transfer but i would suggest taking a cab as that is way cheaper (150HKD).

Check in: we arrived at 2330hrs and so had to drag up our luggage to our rooms ourselves (which i did not much appreciate),other than 2 front desk staff the hotel seem deserted at the time, but if you arrive during the day that would not be the case as the kingdom club room comes with an exclusive checkin available on the 7th floor at the kingdom club lounge.

Rooms: The rooms were very comfortable, even with the AC turned on, the air seemed a bit stuffy but could be easily remedied by opening the door to the balcony. The TV is a standrd package with pay movies available at a cost. Cartoon DVDs are available for free from the kingdom club lounge if the rug rats need to be entertained.

Food: The Kingdom Club Room comes with breakfast at the Kingdom Club Lounge, which my husband and son enjoyed and the service too is good. An all day facility for tea or coffee and biscuits is available. For lunch, we ate at the disney park everday considering that we were there through the day and in the evening the lounge provides apetisers that are quite sufficient if you are not in for a big meal but otherwise the hotel boasts of 3 resuturants which have their own charm.

Pros: The hotel is cheaper on a weekday and that would be wiser than going on a weekend; there is also the added benefit of being able to obtain a silver magic access card (Disneyland park tickets) that cannot be used on the weekend. The silver card reduces the room rate by 10% and gives a further 10% discount on all shops within the hotel and the park. The hotel provides a bus shuttle to the park which is very covenient and runs every 10-15mins. We did not opt for any of the charecter breakfasts or dinners as we met all the charecters in the park.

Cons: Avoid late arrival as the service at night is virtually non-existent. Beware that it is commonplace in HK for people to rush and cut queues where possible which we found annoying at the start but realised that this is just their way. Language can be a problem outside the hotel so plan out your trips outside disneyland well. Fireworks can be viewed from your balcony if your balcony faces the front, which ours did, but unfortunately there was a big tree right in front. So we had to keep moving around the balcony, playing dodgeball with the tree to view the fireworks.

Disneyland Park: The park was simply brilliant. My 8yr old son who is more of a superhero fan totally loved it. make sure you do not miss any of the shows, they are just superb and personally was the highlight of the trip. There is a train that can take you around the park which is quite enjoyable by itself, but is not a requirement to get from one place to another. the distance between the different areas of the park are easily accessible by foot and for those with little ones, the park does provide a stroller for hire.

My family and I stayed in a Kingdom Club room at the HK Disneyland Hotel this Christmas. It was a great stay which was almost perfect.

My first recommendation is to shell out for a Kingdom Club room if it is in your budget. The ease of checking in (direct straight to the 7th floor club lounge), the exclusivity of the lounge for rest and relaxation and the extra benefits of character visits and getting photographs without having to line up, the great breakfast and evening canapés, and basically all the benefits you get are well worth the extra expense. If it's not within your budget however, I would still recommend staying in the hotel.

The staff are all so helpful and go the extra length to provide quality service. The bell staff were extra helpful as we were traveling with a wheelchair and had quite a big of luggage as we were on the first part of a 10 day trip. Our room was quite far from the lounge area and since we had a mobility challenged person with us, I requested if we could be moved closer. Since it was the holiday season they were full but the staff offered to move all our things the next day when a room nearer the lounge opened up the next day. By that time however, we had settled into our room and since it was only a two day stay we decided to forego this. It was great of them to offer however.

There's a lot of things you can do within the hotel grounds, there's a great maze and garden, there's a pool and if you so desire, you can move to the Disney Hollywood Hotel to hang out in the gardens there as well.

The ease of getting to the park and back with the free shuttle is also a reason to stay in the hotel. It allows you to go early in the morning to avoid long lines and queues, come back in the afternoon to rest up and then back later for fireworks.

The only reason I am not putting a perfect 5 review is because of the shuttle not being wheelchair friendly. My mom had to go up several steps on the bus, there are no reserved seats up front for mobility challenged passengers and so my mom had a hard time boarding the bus. This is not the fault of the hotel alone but the resorts which I truly believe needs to be properly addressed.

The rooms are large and clean. There were four of us in a room with two double beds so the space isn't that much, but it worked okay for two days. The bathroom was large in size and clean. The internet was free and fast.

Room Tip: Kingdom club room if you can afford it. Ask for rooms nearer the club room if you have mobility issu...

Stayed here for 3 nights with my 1 year old.the hotel is very beautiful, and it has a nice lobby. I took a walk in the early morning and there wasn't anyone and it feels like your own castle with a beautiful backyard.

We took a taxi front the airport and it costs us 115hkd which is pretty ok . The journey took about 20 minutes. There are 3 color of taxi in Hong Kong. Red , green and blue. All the three can be taken to disneyland. There will be people to guide in the airport

We took the Fantasia room as we wanted a bigger room space for the toddler to run about.. It comes with a jacuzzi. The room is nice with amenities prepared with kids in mind, kids size bathrobe, slippers are also available.. Our girl is too young to enjoy it though

It would have been perfect if there are more options for food in the hotel or nearby. You can either eat in the hotel, which is pretty expensive and limited choices...or eat in disneyland, which is tourist price and very crowded.. We took the option to buy food from the nearby citiigate mall instead. $100 hkd cab and 10 mins away.

The shuttle to disneyland is very frequent. Hardly waited for more than 5 minutes.

Overall, I still like the stay as this is a Disneyland vacation... So everything have to be Disney like to complete the experience.

Stayed with family in the 1st week of Dec2013. We had a magical stay. My kids love the maze. The character breakfast appeared expensive but it's worth every dime. Pls dont let your kids miss it. Very helpful staff. Solid welcome on arrival. Solid supporr on checkout.
Had fun with the rides in tne park. Enjoyed the parades & nightly fireworks. Nice eateries and snacks points. Park shuttle very useful. Many 'paparrazis' around to take your pix. Nice wheather, not much crowd. We had fun honestly

This is a really great Victorian style hotel. Room was nice - we got ourselves one of the larger couples corner room. The amenity of the room was surprisingly simple and small which we found somewhat uncomfortable. The hotel itself isn't that close to the park and you have to take the complimentary bus to reach it. Breakfast buffet was a bit on the pricy side for what you get. We tried breakfast buffet at the Hollywood hotel and it was nicer, and that hotel seems to offer more value overall (we would like to try it in the future). I recommend trying the special dinner at Crystal Lotus for a colorful, eye catching and tasty experience. Again, nice hotel altogether, but I expected more in terms of value. I think they should at least offer early access to the park to be make the hotel really worth the price they ask for.

We had an absolute ball here. Our 3 year olds was welcomed warmly by all the staff & she loved the attention.
The rooms were comfortable & quite spacious. A nice touch was being able to see little Disney characters in the carpets & around the mirrors etc.
Cannot wait to come back again.
