Excellent hotel, exceptionally clean with extremely helpful staff. . Our holiday was so much fun with out two little ones and that was because of the staff and hospitality that is shown to everyone that stays at this hotel. Exceptional service. Wish we had booked to stay longer as the hotel and grounds are just beautiful.

We have just spent three nights at this hotel and...WOW... what a great hotel and a fantastic way to end a holiday in HK ( we had 8 nights on HK Island). The location of the hotel means that you don't even realise that the hustle and bustle of HK is only a relatively short train trip away. You have to hand it to Disney - they sure know how to do it well with all the little touches starting with the special Disney train with its Mickey shaped windows and statues in the carriages. The grounds to the hotel were superbly landscaped and there is a large piano shaped pool, which had 3 lifeguards patrolling it at all times. The first night we were there we went to the Enchanted Garden restaurant at the other Disney Hotel which is a superb buffet and all the Disney characters meet and greet - we had photos with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy. The second night we ate at Chef Mickey at the Hollywood Hotel which serves both a buffet and a la carte menu. There is also a simple cafe plus a bar where you can order food. The hotel room was fine - 2 double beds and enough space for all of us - 2 adults and 2 girls (aged 9 and 7). The little Disney things in the room were hits - like keeping the slippers, Micket shaped ears on the toiletries, the shower curtain, Disney channel on the TV! If your room looks out towards Disneyland you can watch the fireworks from your room and listen to the music from your TV.

The shuttle bus to and from Disneyland is efficent as was the bell boys service getting taxis to go to the airport.

A magical hotel that helps to create lasting memories of our visit to Hong Kong Disneyland

We just returned from a fabulous holiday for 6 nights in Hong Kong staying at the Disneyland Hollywood Hotel. My wife and I took our two youngest children who were 3 and 5 We took the travel agents advice and went in October (even though its peak season) as its considered the best weather (Autumn) to enjoy the island and attractions.

I will try and give a comprehensive run down of what we thought of the hotel as thats what I like in reviews. For some its long winded and too much information I know, soz for that.

We were picked up by private mini van (included in package) and taken to the Hotel. The bell services were very friendly and helpful when greeting us. Checking in was very smooth and we made it to our room fairly quickly. The room was a Garden View room which had two double beds in it, small table with couple chairs, tea/coffee facilities, bar fridge (unstocked), iron + board, house coats and slippers, en-suite, Internet access etc. Room was smallish and we would consider something a little bigger if we were to go again although we didn't spend much time in it. It was air conditioned which worked very well.

We had breakfast included in our package at Chef Mickey restaurant which was buffet style including Asian and western foods. Very well laid out and very fresh and tasty. It was more like a dinner to us and kept us going to late afternoon. Service was excellent with finished plates removed rather promptly. There were other 3 other eating facilities of which we went to two of them for Dinner plus Chef Mickey (Hollywood Diner and Studio Lounge).

Chef Mickey was again buffet style for dinner same as breakfast, but a little pricey imo say compared with Aussie, for two adults cost HK$596 and two children HK$296, add drinks like glass of wine HK$65, Pina Colada HK$65, Coke HK$40, Can of local Beer HK$50, and before you know it cost you some HK$1112 which at the time was about AUS$220.

Looking for an alternative we did eat at their Hollywood Diner which is like a self serve café. That was priced better and you could get a tuna and salad sandwich for HK$38, cup of tea HK$22, orange juice HK$24, cup of milk HK$12, fruit salad HK$25, small packet coco pops HK$12, Caesar salad HK$33, Coke HK$15, chocolate muffin HK$16 and most important can of local beer HK$25. So we did that option a few times as the children just didn't eat well in the Chef Mickey to make it worth paying for it (they don't like Asian food, just toast and pancakes - shame on them)

Finally in the hotel we also ate at the Studio Lounge which was best value for us and more relaxed (nice lounges and chairs to spread out on). For 4 of us we could get a very large pizza for HK$125 and a very large bowl of French fries for HK$25. That was enough to feed all four of us. Drinks, well bottle of corona HK$55, cocktails HK$65 and bottle of apple juice for kids HK$40. A beef burger here was also HK$68 which came with lots of fries.

In all the restaurants we found the staff excellent, service great, food fresh and the facilities clean.

The hotel public bathrooms were immaculate and attended too all the time. They had self flushing toilets. The attendant was constantly cleaning up spills etc.

On cleaning the hotel I also found fascinating was roaming cleaners who constantly cleaned floors, walls, glass etc. Know wonder the hotel sparkled.

The pool facilities were attended too by 3 life guards, one either end of the pool and another on the slide. We had no trouble getting a lazy boy seat position with umbrella, towels were supplied (clean and fresh). The pool was spotless and the kids loved the shallow end (beach type - no sand though) and spent countless hours there. The only disappointment here was the pool bar was only opened once during our stay (that I know off) and being so hot/humid a cool beer would of been great at the pool side in the afternoon.

The hotel also had a play room were children could draw, play puzzles, play with toys etc. Was well attended by at least two staff who interacted a lot with all the kids. Occasionally Goofy or Chipmunks would turn up in and around hotel giving kids a cuddle and great photo shoot for us parents. Disney character stickers, wow they handed these out every were. Kids just ended up with loads and loads of them.

They also had a merchandise store in the lobby which you may guess was always open for kids to con parents into try and buying them something. We didn't mind though, another distraction for them so we could relax. Prices weren't that bad and well we were there for the whole Disneyland thing anyway.

The bus service running every 15 minutes to/from Disneyland was great. Just hop on and in 5 minutes you are there. Disneyland was great too. We did two days of it and enjoyed very much. At Disneyland there is the MTR as well so you can hop on a train and shoot anywhere you want to go. We didn't do it because of having young ones but if they were a little older would of been OK.

Taxi's to Kowloon cost us about HK$200 (AUS$40) for 25 minute ride + tolls. With kids and the stroller we brought along it was worth it. To get to City Gate Shopping Center cost about HK$100. Nice easy going shopping center unlike Harbor City in Kowloon which was great but just so big we got lost and few times. Of course kids hated shopping unless it was toys LOL.

Hotel had a ATM in lobby and pay phones as well.

So overall I rate hotel very high enjoyment. Next time though we would stay 2 - 3 nights at the hotel and then move into Kowloon for more of the sightseeing of rest of Hong Kong so we could retreat with kids in afternoon when they plucker out for a rest rather than having to lug them on a taxi home.

Tipping was never requested/expected at the hotel most likely because they had a 10% service charge anyway. The only tipping I did was the bell services when delivering/collecting the luggage. HK$100 for 4 heavy suitcases is what I tipped.

Of course we were picked up by the private mini van back to the Airport and very sad to leave. Will certainly be back again.

Stopped in Hollywood hotel, Hong Kong for a stop over & found it excellent in every way.

The hotel was stunning. The room was large, clean & very modern. They supply dressing gowns, slippers & anything you ask for. The staff are very helpful & friendly. They all speak very good english in the hotel & the park.

It was definantly better then America & France with no queues in the park for any of the rides.

I would love to go back & would stay in the same hotel & would recomend to evryone.

The only drawback was the food as I have a 4 year old son but they do burgers & hot dogs.

The Disney Hollywood Hotel in Hong Kong is a really nice hotel. It is one of 2 official hotels of the Hong Kong Disney Resort. Access to the theme park is very easy via shuttle.

The rooms were of a high quality. As you can see from the photos they had Disney theming. Throughout the hotel I regurlarily saw Disney character's walking around and interacting with the guests - kids and "big kids" - hehe.

No problems with the staff - English was spoken very well. The breakfast buffet was of a high quality. I went to the cafe for dinner which was also very tasty.

Overall the hotel is great for a true Disney experience - it's just a shame the park isn't bigger - but there did appear to be a fairly large looking expansion in progress at Disneyland when I was there.
