“Good, but nothing special”
Reviewed 6 July 2014 via mobile

We paid about 100 euros per night including breakfast. As you would expect for that price, the room is quite big, clean and has everything you need. Nothing surprising. The breakfast was quite good, they offered English style, Chinese and also yoghurts, fruits and cereal.

The location was very convenient. The wan chai station is just a block further and this gives you access to the rest of Hong Kong island and the mainland. You can also hop on a doubledecker tram which takes you across Hong Kong island. Not faster, but you get to see a lot. Although the location was good, I would say any accommodation near any subway station in the city will do because the metro is just very good. We eventually took the subway to the airport, which took us about 40 minutes for just over 100 HKD per person.

8 days in a lovely clean hotel with attentive staff. Great location close to all the action, yet quiet rooms. Superior room had all additional comfort stuff. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good but served next door. No bar in hotel but did serve complementary wine at happy hour. Good value for money!

Always my preferred stay when in Hong Kong (monthly), not as cheap as other hotels in the area. But the rooms are brighter, cleaner and the staff and always smiling and helpful.
Walking distance to the MTR and HKCEC makes it ideally for anyone looking for a hotel during trade fair.
Plenty of restaurants and bars in the area.

Well located in WanChai - close to the MTR station and the trams and buses - what makes this hotel worth paying for is the first rate service. We checked in at the last minute but the front of house staff couldnt have been more helpful and accommodating of our needs. Even when we sought a late check-out having stumbled back from Lan Kwai Fong at 5am they were happy to oblige. The hotel even offers a free drink and nibbles in the evening before you head out.

The rooms are small but well appointed with comfortable beds. The bathroom is clean with a good powerful shower and all the facilities one could ask for on hand.

The Fleming Hotel is actually on the fringe of the red-light district in Hong Kong city, but that's not the best thing about it. The staff are friendly and helpful. The beds are enormous, (but hard, as is typical I understand), the bathrooms generous, toiletries exceptional. But the best thing about this hotel is the pillows. Perfect and lots of them. You might not want to linger in the room, there isn't much room, but get your shoes on and head off on foot to explore the local by-ways. Easy walking distance to the Kowloon ferries, the tram route and of course the red-light district. Just a couple of blocks to street stalls for everything you might want to purchase. Venture further afield to the rarefied air of Pacific Place if shopping for brands is your thing. For a first-time visit to Hong Kong, the Fleming is in a great location, and makes a good home-away-from home.

came here for a trip to the HKCEC and the Fleming Hotel was a very close hotel.
the rooms are small but probably a bit bigger than Hong Kong standard.
Breakfast was average, but the staff were very friendly and helpful.
there were plenty of restaurants nearby and 7 eleven for water/beers etc....
not a bad location for a business trip to HKCEC and close to transport.

The hotel itself and rooms are quite small but it's the location and value that you get for your money. We stayed overnight in corner room with no view- our window faced a building opposite! This is common in hong kong if you are not paying top dollar for the harbour view hotels. But the room itself was fine - clean, with amenities (including robes and slippers!) and a fantastic rain shower. When we requested a space heater upon check-in it was quickly delivered and worked a dream. This is a plus in my book as some hong kong hotels don't have heating even in winter. The hotel is located a five minute walk from the MTR and the front desk will gladly tell you the quickest way to navigate the subway or when it's more convenient to take a cab. 2 blocks down from the hotel is a great basement supermarket that is useful for stocking up on snacks and drinks.

Around the corner from the hotel is the famous Joy Hing Roast Duck and Goose stall. It literally is a stall- a hole in the wall,we walked by it the first time as there was construction hoarding over the entrance. If you plan to eat there, be warned that it is very local. ie get ready to order, eat and leave as quickly as possible. Be prepared to share tables and rub elbows (literally! sometimes) with the locals and don't even think about "ambience". That said, the duck and goose rice/noodles are divine.

Back at the hotel, there is happy hour with free wine and bar snacks at the lobby every evening from 6-8pm. It is nice to have a glass of wine and chat with the other guests before heading out for dinner. At other times there are apples in the bowls in the lobby too for the the guests. The hotel is located right next to the highway but in our room we couldn't hear a thing and slept like logs. The Fleming is a great choice for couples on a quick visit to Hong Kong.
