Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Causeway Bay

I had an unexpected additional over stay in Hong Kong due to missing a flight. I had to find some where immediately to stay. I had already been in Hong Kong for three days and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in East Kowloon. That stay was wonderful so of course I expected nothing less from the Holiday Inn Express at Causeway Bay. It was closer to the airport and therefore suited my needs. The staff was wonderful in spite of the booking agent or booking site where I booked my room. While the building was much older than the one in East Kowloon, it still met my expectations as far as the room and staff was concerned. I would recommend this Holiday Inn to anyone who is in the Causeway Bay area and wants to stay downtown. It is right in the middle of everything. The downtown feel was great for the night I stayed there and it was very close to a nearby mall and the subway station. That was a key factor to my reason for staying there, the subway station. Holiday Inn Express, job well done!!!!

Not bad. I like it because of the location. Room is not as small as I was expecting really small like those in Singapore. Lights are bright and Wi fi is good. Basic service. This hotel is located next to time square. Landmark is salvatore feragoma
Is just next to it.

Very helpful staff, clean rooms, a bit small but cozy, a stones throw away from Lane Crawford, Times Square Mall, Sasa, MTR, Coffee Academics, etc. They have no shuttle to the airport but you can request the staff to get you a cab on your way to the airport. Will stay here again if i given the chance to come back.

Pretty basic Holiday Inn Express, small-ish rooms but clean none the less. Great location right in Causeway Bay though, right around the corner from Happy Valley. Access to MTR, shopping and dining were great. My work site was close to the airport, which made for a long commute, but the location in the evening made up for it.

Stayed for 2 days. .. Location wise the hotel is brilliant. Accommodation nd service was good. Checķ in took time. The worst point is breakfast. .with very little or no choice nd set menu only. Moreover the forex desk pwrson did not know english which was a real pur off for a hotel likw this.

Stayed here March 31, 2014 for two nights. The room was as expected. Ditto the bathroom. Trying to manoeuvre your suitcase, especially if you have more than one, up and down the escalator to and from reception a bit of a challenge . Efficient people at reception. As for the breakfast the least said the better. A word that comes to mind, appalling .I ordered a different selection from the menu each day. There was no buffet. Do yourself a favour and eat at the Mall. All I can say is that it served the purpose for what I needed at the time.

Dear Bachie,

Thank you for your recent feedback posted here, it is much appreciated.

We are glad to know that you were satisfied with the service provided by our Front Office Staff.

On the other hand, we were quite upset to have learnt about your unpleasant experience upon arrival, while you were struggling with the luggage as you riding on the escalator from Ground Floor to the 1st Floor hotel lobby, in fact there was a signage board placed at the hotel main entrance on Ground Floor with which to remind our guests to access to the 1st Floor Lobby by using the lift instead of escalator. Our Department Head concerned has been informed about this, and he will make sure some additional notices will be put up to make it more visible.

In regards to the breakfast, please be rest assured that your valuable comment is duly noted. We will certainly look at our breakfast offering to see what we can do to in order to meet the expectation of our guests.

Thanks again and we all look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future.

Kind regards

If you like being neighbours with Times Square in Hong Kong's popular Causeway Bay shopping district, this hotel is for you. Literally across a side street from this landmark in downtown HK, Holiday Inn Express Causeway Bay (note there is another HIE at Soho which is on the Kowloon side - NOT the same) is centrally located for all your shopping, food and convenience needs. Its like staying in Orchard Road in Singapore, or Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur, Ximending in Taipei or even Shibuya in Tokyo. The not-too-large lobby is on the 2nd floor of the hotel building and the young front desk staff are helpful and speak English well. Due to the size of the lobby and few couches available for seating, you can expect it to be crowded most of the time. But hey, you didn't book the hotel for the lobby conduciveness, right?

The rooms with ensuite bathrooms are not huge but sizable by HK standards, especially in such a central, prime real estate location. Television channels (not more than 10) provided are mainly local and the likes of international ones like BBC, CNBC etc. Also inhouse movies.

Breakfast in the hotel is forgettable - choose from three different sets of American/Continental offerings. You're better off eating in the local hole-in-the-wall eateries for a fraction of the cost and many notches up in taste and variety. And why even bother eating in the hotel unless you're rushing for a meeting (if its a business trip) when you're in HK? :)

The hotel is 3mins walk from the Causeway Bay MTR (metro) station and the popular SOGO department store (if only as a familiar meeting point).

I'd highly recommend this hotel based on value for money and location. If you're into luxury and pampering hotel stays with a bellhop who shows you to your room for a tip, you'd be better off at a 5 star chain.
