Though the hotel is not centrally located, it is within a few minutes walk to the nearest MTR. Room is neat and clean and very well kept. Generally a good hotel at a reasonable room rate.Staffs are friendly and polite and was pleased that they allowed an additional 2 hours without charging me a late check out fee as my flight is a evening flight.

Have been staying at the Cosmo for probably 10 years now. Nice little boutique-ish hotel in a great location. Outside of the main bustle of Wanchai so you can go for a nice run up the hill or around happy valley.

Only complaint is the severely antiquated practice of charging for internet, which is FREE most places (public and private) in HK. Not a big deal, but annoying nonetheless. Bit tough to get a taxi there sometimes as well, but overall a great alternative to the high priced hotels on the island.

My friend and I stayed for four nights on a shopping holiday.
We chose this hotel due to budget.
The positives:
The hotel is clean, breakfast is good with western and chinese choices, free phone calls and wifi, rooms are spacious for this area and budget.

The negatives:
When we arrived the person at front desk literally stared as we struggled through the doors with our bags then gave us no information about where to get breakfast (fyi in the nouch bar) and where the lift was hidden behind a wall. Found this inhospitable and rude.
Had emailed three times confirming our room had two beds, we got two beds pushed together making one bed!? Also emailed and confirmed the shuttle to and from airport was told to pay on checkout but company told us to pay upfront and front desk told us to go to cosmopolitan and arrange it. Not impressed.

We ended up walking to the cosmopolitan next door and ordering taxis. Their service was EXCELLENT.
Used our room key to show taxis where we were staying.

Hotel is located near small shops and taxi costs around 69 hkd to go to kowloon.
Would reccomend hotel for short stay or stop over but dont expect to be blown away with courtesy or hospitality. Do your homework before booking.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for your review. We regret to learn that your stay with us did not quite meet your expectations this time. Guest satisfaction is always one of our top priorities. Please rest assured training will be reinforced to all the front line staff to ensure welcoming service to be extended anytime. The Cosmopolitan Hotel down the road you mentioned is actually our sister hotel. We welcome you to try it out on your next visit if you fancy a room with stunning Happy Valley Racecourse views. Both Cosmo Hotel and Cosmopolitan Hotel share the same shuttle bus service with the main tour desk available at Cosmopolitan Hotel. I believe our staff is referring you to the tour desk at the Cosmopolitan Hotel for transportation arrangement. However, we will definitely remind our staff to give a clearer explanation to our guests and extend friendly service to all guests to avoid any confusion. We hope to welcome you back again soon.

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights with a friend. Was coming in for a weekend from Shenzhen and I thought it was a great hotel. Even though it was not located in Central it was still a great location. About a 5 minute walk to the metro which was nice and close to Times Square which has a bunch of great dim sum restaurants around the area.

The room was nice and quaint. Perfect size for two travelers. There is a cell phone that is in the room which is free to use. Honestly it came in handy when exploring Hong Kong because we were able to look places up on the phone free of charge. Definitely a great selling point of the hotel. The vibe of the hotel is great too. The staff is very friendly and and speak English pretty well.

I really enjoyed the location of the hotel - it is located at a very walkable distance to the Wan Chai and Causeway Bay MTR stations, both lively and convenient city hubs. The hotel was clean, the size of the room fair for Hong Kong hotels, and very comfortable overall. The gym (which is very, very small - located in its sister hotel and renovated to be a gym from what was originally a suite room) is a nice optional, especially after making too many delicious mistakes. The shuttle bus services is also incredibly helpful. A major bonus which I only discovered in the last few days of my stay has to be the smartphone that is provided in the room, which provides for free local and long distance calls, wi-fi anywhere in the city, maps, apps, you name it! (Just the smart phone service alone is reason enough to be back.)

However, my only big complaint would be about the overall quality and services of the staffs. While I appreciated how some of the staffs were incredibly friendly and attentive, there were also a few who weren't on par with that level of service; in other words, my experience with the service of Cosmo Hotel is not very consistent. I think that if all the employees are brought to that level of friendliness and attentiveness (i.e. there is a better consistency in the service quality), the quality of the Cosmo Hotel experience can be drastically elevated.

All in all, Cosmo Hotel made a great temporary home-away-from-home. Considering the recent inflation in prices around Hong Kong, the convenient location, price and the pleasant overall experience I am definitely tempted to be back again the next time I visit Hong Kong.

Room Tip: Book your stay online if you can for the best rate and complimentary wifi (they also offer many prom...

Stayed for 1 night. Arrived at 12 noon and room wasn't ready. Staff said they would put the bags in the room when it was ready. Came back at midnight that night and our bags were still at the concierge desk.
Rooms are very small and basic, but clean.
The Cosmo and sister hotel offer a shuttle bus service to HK Central and convention centre.
We took the bus and had a very unpleasant experience with the shuttle bus driver, who when asked at a stop (as it was hard to hear from the back of the full bus) if it was HK Central shouted at her "THIS IS HK CONVENTION CENTER, DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND ENGLISH, YOU NO SPEAK ENGLISH??" I confronted the driver when getting off, but he just ignored and said nothing. I reported this incident to the GM of both hotels (same person) after our stay, but didn't even get an acknowledgment, which says a lot about their customer service and thought on feedback from guests.

Room Tip: If taking the shuttle arrive early, as it fills up fast.

I was there for 7 days, the location was a bit out of the way if travelers plan to explore hong kong with mtr, the hotel does provide shuttle service to the nearest mtr but was a bit of a hassles, luckily there was bus stop right outside the hotel that could bring us to the nearest mtr so that we do not have to wait or worry to have missed the shuttle bus, there was a tram station near by as well.

It will be a good place to stay if you wish to travel and explore hong kong island instead of the kowloon area, i personally find that traveling thru and fro to kowloon was a bit tedious and regretted not booked the cosmo mongkok instead.

However the service was excellent, as we were having our pre wedding shoot in hong kong and there was alot of preparation on our side, the hotel was very efficient in helping us to get stuff like vase etc for my bouquet.

Overall the room was comfortable and clean, the issue we had was the pillow as they were really really thin and soft, and we requested a firmer pillow which they provided efficiently, this time the pillow was hard as rock, nevertheless the front desk was very helpful and go the extra mile to help us find the right pillow.

Would recommend staying here for the clean, comfy room with great service. As for location wise, if your plan is to explore the hong kong island and less so of the other side then is good, if not the travelling will be must of a hassle.

As for the cemetery part, i wished there was a note on the website that inform me about it that all standard rooms will be facing the "moutain view", was a bit creepy but as long as the curtain and window stays close it was alright and not haunted for my case

There is like literally no food stores near by, at least i did not encounter any, if you are afraid that you might be hungry at night, take away snacks before returning to the hotel will be good.

Room Tip: do not book standard room if you do not wish to face the cemetery
