“Simple Good Food”
Reviewed 12 July 2013

My friend had read about this little treasure online, we were seated inside the door right beside the lovely old owner, he was forever counting money and using the calculator.
We ordered 2 plates of dumplings and 2 plates of vegetables, they came out very quickly and were all tasty, we all had a can of beer that was served with a paper cup.
This little gem is no fine dining Michelin experience, but is well worth a visit for traditional dumplings.

“Cheap, Tasty Dumplings”
Reviewed 25 February 2013

Had a quick lunch here in this bustling restaurant. We were seated at the end of the lunch rush between many hungry diners. Ordered a couple of plates of dumplings and some vegetables. It was quick, tasty. Service was snappy. Recommend for a quick lunch with friends.

“Worth going”
Reviewed 17 January 2013

Small place with kind owners, family owned? Came there late so it was only us and another man eating. The food came quick and was delicious and at a nice price! Would absolutely go there again

“Not satisfying...”
Reviewed 20 November 2012 via mobile

This place is quite shabby, but we've chosen it anyways cause it catched us with the Michelin recommondation on the front door. Since there were sitting a lot of people that were looking like Hong Kong residents in this tiny restaurant, we guessed that the food has to be awesome. Maybe that's why we were so disappointed, when our cucumber salad looked like someone allready nibbled on it before and was also kinda dried out. The Pork dumplings had shredded bonepieces inside which almost broke my tooth! And every dish we ordered was seasoned with coriander, which I personally dont like, but that's a matter of taste. Anyways, I'm sure there are better dumplingplaces in that area so maybe just choose one of the 1000 other restaurants in the neighborhood.

“Squeezy but......”
Reviewed 18 November 2012

We found this place by accident. On our last night in Hong Kong we wanted dumplings. Where to go? Most places only had menus in Cantonese so you can tell we weren't that adventurous. Hopped onto the escalator ( a must do in HK) and headed to mid level and started our search. Hit Wellington St and in front of us was Wang Fu. Nothing to lose we went inside. Yes they could find a table for 2. You sit where there is space and share the table with others. This doesn't suit everyone but it was fine. We went for dinner it may /maynot be as crowded at lunchtime.Seating for about 30 people in the dumpling house. Very little room to move but the food was enjoyable. Probably nothing out of this world but good dumpling fare. The pork & chives dumpling had too much chive for my partner and anything with prawns and pork had more pork than prawns.Dumpling mix was light and prices very reasonable. We finished off with their smoked chicken which was delicious. Mostly local diners which is always a good sign and a small number of westerners.
