“Fantastic & there is no better dining experience anywhere else!!!”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

From the beginning to the end, it's like a beautiful symphony (with opening, movements & endings) perfectly executed. Loved the new summer brunch selections, perfectly for the hot and humid summer days in Hong Kong. Fresh seasonable vegetables with dip, and 3 different cold consommes (like the beef shoulder one the best). Among the main course, the French chicken leg was out of the world with intense flavor, and it was presented in a way you could never imaged (check out the attached picture). Here comes my favorite, cheese plate; and had 16 types of the best cheeses from France this time. Some of which are so rare that you cannot find on your own. Of couse, the service is always the best of the bests! Already book a table for next month.

“Wow . Something special.”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

The standard of service and overall quality of cuisine was excellent.
Table service was unobtrusive yet seemed to anticipate all our needs.

A must visit for that special occasion.

“Excellent services”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

My husband and I usually go for French when we have celebrations. A couple of years ago, we came here for my husband's birthday celebration and we were impressed with the quality of food and the services. I also came here for lunch a few times whenever I have visitors. We usually had really wonderful dining experiences.
We came here for our anniversary celebration and my husband made the reservation a few weeks in advance to ensure we could secure a window table. Here's part of the reservation conversation:
Husband: We'd like to celebrate our anniversary.
Restaurant: OK, sir. Do you need us to prepare a birthday cake?
Husband: No. I told you we are celebrating our anniversary.
Restaurant: So, you don't need a birthday cake?
Husband: .....

The second conversation over the phone:
Restaurant: Sir, we would like to confirm your reservation for dinner on (date).
Husband: Yes.
Restaurant: Please be aware that you will be charged $xxxx for cancellation or no shows.

My husband honestly was not impressed with these kinds of conversations. The first conversation obviously showed that the restaurant was not listening at all the purpose of our dining there. For the second conversation, my husband's comment after hanging up the phone, "this restaurant -- I think I will not go again. All they think about is money and money."

On the day when we went for the dinner, all the services were attentive and professional. We were impressed how experienced the staffs are. The wine suggested by the sommelier was superb! I had oyster and shell fish tartar as the appetizer and turbot as the entre. My husband had Brittany lobster as the appetizer and sea bass for the entre. All were good -- but I won't say they were excellent. For the turbot, I think it was clever to cook it with razor clams but it was redundant to have the fish with the sauce. The salad on the side was brilliant as it was fresh and it could clear the greasiness from the sauce.

What I think a disaster was the dessert. I had Consommé de Rhubarbe et Fraise des Bois. There were too many ingredients in the dessert that really did not go well. The rhubarb and wild strawberry consomme was way too sweet. All ingredients there could not bring the pleasure of having the dessert. I could not finish it.

So, all in all, what impressed me the most there was the attentive service and the wine, although the previous telephone conversations were not pleasant. Maybe I am spoiled by those really excellent French restaurants: Amber at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Daniel Boulud in NYC, Joel Robuchon in Macau, and my all time favorite: La Chevre d'Or in Eze, France. The dining experience this time at Caprice made me feel this restaurant is declining.

“A Top Restaurant Experience”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

We have been here three times, We live in Australia.

This restaurant is a beauty but the food is not as good under the new chef.

We ate here at lunchtime and selected the set menu.

The food is just not as special as it was previously. Its good but not as good as earlier visits.

Be careful with the Bouillbaisse. Its not a soupy one in the traditional sense, its a thick, gluggy, bready one. Never knew the french made one like that. Not nice at all.

Hope this helps.
