Cons: rooms have paper-thin walls (so much so that you can hear not just your neighbours, but other people down the hall very clearly), rooms are tiny, poor value.

Pros: clean rooms, central location (most hotels are in Cheung Chau), good breakfast.

We were booked for two nights but left after the first night because it was so noisy. We asked for a refund for the second night when we checked out around 10:30am and the guy at the front desk said they couldn't do anything other than moving us to a different room or moving us to another property they had. When we told him that we would never have booked with them had we known how bad the noise was he just chuckled at us and said he wouldn't refund us for the second night. I was really unimpressed with his customer service. Other staff we spoke with were friendly.

Overall this was a very poor experience during an otherwise wonderful trip to Hong Kong and surrounding region.

It is very easy to walk to from the ferry terminal .
The room was quite small. It was clean
The only problem was the hotel played piped music into the corridors which could be heard in the room and also the walls seemed thin and we could hear people talking in the adjoining rooms.

We lived in Suite B for 4 nights and I couldn't imagine better option. the room was quite small, but the bathroom is convenient, no problems with AC or hot water, tasty breakfast, room was clean, teapot, small fridge, no in-room safe. The balcony is very convenient - you can sit there in the evening with your drink and watch the movie, for example.. the beach 30 seconds by foot away, the second beach is 3-4 minutes away (by the way we preferred the second one, just come to the closest beach and walk to the right along the sea). I also liked the service - very much home-like, not too formal. And I felt safe as the entrance to the stair is locked by the separate magnet key.
We saw through the open door that the neighbour suite A is bigger - so if you want more space - better take it.

My wife and I wanted to get away for a quick weekend from Macau so we chose to stay at B&B Cheung Chau. We were looking for a quiet and relaxing weekend and we were not disappointed. The B&B was super clean and well decorated. The beds were super comfortable especially considering beds in Asia tend to be very firm. Yes the rooms were small but they have everything you need. We spend hours on the roof top terrace drinking wine and chatting. In the morning it was great to watch people go by out front while enjoying breakfast. They also have a great selection of beers. We rented the bicycles they provide for a small fee ($4 us) and it was a fun way to explore the island. We already can't wait to go back soon.

Room Tip: (Tip: the wifi signal is stronger on the 1st and 3rd floor).

We booked our air-tickets to Hong Kong in April, not knowing that it's the peak season then. The hotels in the main island of Hong Kong and Tsim Sha Tsui were either fully booked or out of our budget. Decided to try staying in the islands and considered Lantau Island and Cheung Chau Island. After searching online, found this B&B and decided to give it a go. So, we booked our 1st 3 nights here and the rest of our 3 nights in another hotel in the main Hong Kong island.

We were pretty satisfied with the B&B. Situated a short walk from the ferry pier, it's quiet and yet very near to food and shops. The rooms were very small, but most budget hotels in Hong Kong are tiny, so the room size didn't really bother us. The breakfast was ok, the overall service by the staff was acceptable. We also liked their roof terrace where we can have our dinners and enjoy the view and the cool air.

I highly recommend staying a few nights in Cheung Chau island if you visit Hong Kong. It's only a 30min ride by ferry from Central, Hong Kong. It is so laid back here and life is much slower when compared to Hong Kong island or Tsim Sha Tsui. We enjoyed ourselves immensely walking through their meandering streets, observing local life and even had the chance to sit down with their elderly residents to have a good chat. The seafood in Cheung Chau is also good, but I do suggest comparing prices between a couple of restaurants before settling on one. We went for the restaurant with the most number of patrons and we weren't disappointed. 4 dishes and 2 big bottles of local beer will set you back about USD30.

I enjoyed the stay here much more than our stay in Hong Kong island. Maybe it's because it's my 4th trip to Hong Kong, I am looking for something different, having explored the usual touristy spots in Hong Kong during my previous trips.

We stayed in HK for 2 weeks and wanted a place to relax, Cheung Choi island is a perfect place to do so. Hiking, nice beaches, a typical HK style villegies, it is recommended to hire bike for a whole day (40 HK$) you have good shops there such as: Park and shop, wellcome etc...The rooms in the B$B are quite small so if you want something bigger you should book the family room which is 8 minutes away from the main building where the serve their breakfast which is very minimal.

This place is cheap and perhaps the best option on the island. When we arrived (from Australia - a long flight, and then a ferry) our room wasn't ready (late afternoon). No big deal, but an indication of service - no offer of a drink while we waited, etc. We wandered around and discovered the food on a stick that was everywhere. The worst thing, for me, was the very hard bed. It was barely different to sleeping on the floor. We asked for a room change but they said all the beds were new - and the same as the one we had. After the first night of fitful sleep, we said we were cold, got an extra doona, and put that under us, so we had a layer of something a bit softer to sleep on. We still didn't sleep very well. The thing is, we had a great time on the island - I liked it much better than the rest of Hong Kong, with its windy little streets, beautiful seafood, and nice walks. But they desperately need to change their mattresses. Also, I didn't care about these things but you might - water damage on the walls, a small and awkward shower.
