This hotel was a disappointment. It looked like it had potential to be a very nice hotel, however, over time it had lost its shine.
The staff was friendly enough but the rooms were in need of care. Our Water Closet kept running and the TV didn't work.
This hotel is far from Nanjing down town. There is a subway station close by which one can take to get to where the action is. The hotel is in walking distance to one of Nanjing railway stations.
The food choices at the breakfast was minimal.
This hotel is an excellent two and a half star hotel.

No help with baggage. Check in, check out reasonable. Rooms were OK. Free internet access. Very pleasant, relaxing, well-appointed bar. Chinese buffet breakfast with no coffee on offer. Adequate for a one night business stay - I wouldn't want to stay longer. Close to railway station for high-speed trains to Shanghai (no noise issue though).

I had booked this hotel because of the reviews. These included a review which said that this hotel had both indoor and outdoor swimming pool. When we arrived we were told that the swimming pool was indoor only and open.

Upon checking we found that there was NO water in the pool and it was closed. Also the promised tennis court was also closed. The temperature was nearly 40 deg so we thought that the pool should have been open.

We had many unhappy experiences in the hotel. Breakfast finished at 10 am, but they were clearing up well before that. It was hopeless trying to get a Western Breakfast, nearly all the dishes were inedible by Western standards. Also it took me three tries to get a proper 'hot' cup of tea. At around 9.45 staff were mopping the floor of the restaurant at the same time as getting me a spoon for my tea!

On arrival at the hotel there was no porter and we left there was no porter to help with the bags. Asking for the business centre it was closed, because the staff were 'at lunch'! Also they were very unhelpful and had to bring a lap top everytime I wanted to use the internet.

In the Lobby Bar there were NO snacks with the beer, just beer. When my nephew ordered a Coffee he was charged 44 RMB, around $A6.70 - more than he would pay in Australia!

All in all I would not recommend this hotel. The staff could not speak English and were very unfriendly and unhelpful. The location also is not in the centre of town.

There were always people lazing on the lounges in the lobby - taking up space which others could use. They had very little seating space in the lounge. When I asked for a copy of "China Daily" they referred me to the Business Centre, who had NO copy of the newspaper.

We found people smoking in the rooms on our floor - a Non Smoking Floor.

All in all, I think this hotel needs to wake up to modern hospitality and to welcoming Western guests. It does not need much, just a friendly touch, which was totally lacking in this hotel.

This is a hotel that is close to living up to its 4 star ranking. Nice, large room with good amenities. It is within walking distance of the train station, but on the edge of downtown. Given the traffic in Nanjing, it will take a while to get anywhere from here, but it is close to a shopping area and across from a nice lake. Internet is free. I had a good rate, so it did not include a free breakfast. Overall this a nice hotel, and at a good rate, is a good value.

I went to Nanjing for a half-business-half-sightseeing trip. booked this hotel for RMB400 per night. good price counting that room is big and clean.
from the room i could see the Train station side and part of the Lake, very opened view (you can see the hotel photos).

paid about RMB38 for a breakfast, reasonablly good quality chinese-style breakfast. unless you can't live with chinese food, generally i felt good there.

Lobby is reasonably large and staff are quite nice.

certainly worth for business traveller.

My husband and I were booked into this hotel by university colleagues
in Nanjing and were impressed with it. The hotel is listed as 4-star but it's certainly a step up from other hotels we stayed at on this trip: the 4-star Park Hotel in Shanghai (though the location is excellent) and the 5-star Nikko New Century Hotel in Beijing which were both a little disappointing in comparison. Our room was large (with a separate, proper desk) and decorated in a modern, urban (admittedly Western) style; the bathroom was quite spacious and shiny
clean. We had a few meals in the main Chinese restaurant, both hosted by colleagues (who knew what the Nanjing specialties were!) and by ourselves. It's quite a classy and popular restaurant but reasonably priced compared with some 4-5 star hotels. The hotel is located very close to the unversity (it's used a lot by them though it's owned by the provincial electricity board!); it's also close to a metro station and only one or two stops - or a shortish walk - to the city centre. I'd certainly stay here again.
