Closer to the airport and with easier access to highways, this hotel is about 20 mins outside the city center, in an area of small and larger lakes and some homes and commercial/restaurant developments. Arriving, you cross small bridges, which seem to also be part of walking-paths near the hotel and the surrounding little islands. Inside, most walls are glass and the overall feel is trying for airy and garden-like, even indoors. The rooms are nice, especially the bathrooms. Plenty of hot water. Overall, a pretty good business-quality hotel, with only minor idiosyncrasies (an especially-slow check-out and faulty door-lock being two). I will stay there again in 1 week, the first two days in early May were overall very good, especially because the weather was mild and the location allowed easy access to surrounding sights without the congestion of central nanjing. I think there is a metro stop pretty close, but i didn't use it.
The breakfast is standard buffet -- nothing too gourmet, but still with plenty of hot and cold western and eastern staples to start anyone's day off right (of course, with plenty of watermelon, longan fruit, cucumber, tomatoes, etc, etc... big buffet-style). They did run out of oj and apple juice as they were shutting-down though (yes, i was 2nd-to-last to leave)...
one important reminder -- if your room faces the lagoon in the back of the hotel, where apparently the locals fish, make sure to close the patio doors at night. Otherwise, you will be a feast for Chinese bugs!
