“Best cafe by a mile”
Reviewed 10 June 2014 via mobile

You won't beat this for coffee in Lhasa. The tomato bisque is surprisingly amazing. It's very much a nice Western style cafe. Wifi works. The only downside is it's expensive for Tibet, but you get what you pay for.

“By far the best coffee in Lhasa”
Reviewed 12 May 2014

Summit Cafe has 3 branches in the Tibetan Quarter of Lhasa and each of them is excellent. They serve real coffee and have a great assortment of muffins and desserts. Their other branches also have excellent pizza, burgers and salads. Summit Cafe is foreign owned, but is staffed and managed by local Tibetans, which was really important to us. We went here for coffee every morning we were in Lhasa! Excellent place!

Gotta say, the coffee is good, the cakes a taste expplosion and after days of (very good) asian food it feels like a nice piece of home.
A bit of Europe in Lhasa - try the cakes!

“Everything Else is Just Base Camp”
Reviewed 4 January 2014

Who would have thought that in the middle of a courtyard, off a street in the middle of Lhasa, one would find the closest thing to Starbuck's in perhaps 1000 miles? This cosmopolitan coffee house is a mecca for visitors and locals alike, enjoying coffees, teas and cakes that one would expect to find in the heart of Seattle or Paris. We stopped by a few times during our visit to Lhasa and always had excellent service and good beverages/snacks, while listening to half a dozen or more languages being spoken all around us. And who can resist the logowear T-shirts, clothing patches, coffee mugs and espresso cups with the cafe's clever slogan? Certainly not us!
