Bring a jacket! And time! And an empty stomach!
We went there to check out the museum (free and with great exhibits and great pictures from Lhasa's early days), but ended up having lunch there as well. And loved it! Huge selection of Tibetan, Chinese, Indian and Western food. With a bi-lingual menu and pictures and English speaking Nepali staff. Don't be put off if it's empty, the hotel is a bit off, so I guess only hotel guests frequent it. When we were there for lunch, we witnessed the chef checking the cleaner's work and the ingredient's freshness. I loved the veggie dishes and my company went straight for yak delicacies. But do bring a jacket, it's air-conditioned (of all places!) and time. Service is not slower than elsewhere, but the variety of dishes is overwhelming and I did like the fact that I could eat Eastern and have a coffee afterwards - something rarely found in Chinese Restaurants. Oh, and very reasonable Price. And very nice wash rooms.
