a truly memorable experience, made possible when we had engaged krakatau ecotourism to do all the ground work for us.

took a fast boat ride from the town of carita to head towards krakatau volcano, the trip took about 1.5 hrs, one way.

once there was amazing to see what actually gets spit out of a volcano during its eruption, of course it is all cooled down already when we went there.
after climbing to the top, to the maximum possible height we were allowed as no one was allowed to go right to the summit due to safety concerns, the surrounding landscape was just beautiful.

after the volcano visit, we were taken to a nearby island for some snorkeling adventure, which was wonderful also.

anyone planning a trip to krakatau i would recommend these chaps, Iyan and Iman, two brothers actually who runs the company, they can be contacted at www.krakatauecotourism.com

Krakatau is one active Indonesian volcano, located in the Sunda strait between Sumatran also in the west and east of Java island, Krakatoa is a tourist attraction that is outside the natural beauty. around deck invites impress the visitors who come, Krakatau islands consists of three islands namely; Rakata who loomed, and two other small islands namely, long island and the island Serdang is located on the west, and anak krakatau or child krakatau is a midle amongs them.vegetated casuarina tree.
This time the second time I visited the island of Anak Krakatau in Chinese new year conjunction with days off and at once saw activities Mount Krakatau out solid material and gas at night, wow amazing, but the sight distance between the volcano with camping place far enough [4 km]. and according to the narrative of a guide who accompanied the trip, since 1994 until now, Krakatoa's crater has moved 4 times, from the northwest, east, southwest in 2008 and now leads into the south side,
For those of you who happened to visit Krakatau, can contact the guides or the local organizers, all the needs for camping in Krakatau will be provided including eating and drinking, one of the local operators [Dipa [nick name], working to help you travel to Krakatoa .
Other attractions in the Krakatau like, fishing, snorkeling at rakata lagoon beautifull and colourfish are found and type of coral reefs excellent, and hiking.

Whilst in Java we booked a trip to see the volcano. Staying in Jakarta we hired a car for the day to Carita Beach, just south of Anjer, picked up the power launch to cross the Sunda Strait to the island at Marina Lippo.
Following the cataclysmic explosion in 1883 which destroyed 90% of the old volcano the new volcano broke the surface in 1927, growing at a rate of 3 meters per year. Permanently active it can be viewed from the boat or, as we did, you can land on the island and feel the power of nature, a truly memorable experience.

This is a great weekend trip for people living in Jakarta. You can drive to Anyer or Cerita and rent a boat from there. It's probably best to make arrangements ahead of time, and there are many agencies that do this. The volcano is fairly active right now.
