“Abandoned potential”
Reviewed 25 November 2013 via mobile

This would be a very interesting tourist sites to experience old days of jakarta, but if and only if the site are well maintained by the local government.
The place now is full of abandoned old buildings with half ruined or even completely ruined parts. Yes if you look really closely and carefully you can see how the building were used to be beautiful but that's only if you even managed to get inside some buildings without getting ripped of by the unofficial "guard" on the entrance of the building.

Personally, I wouldnt suggest you to go around this site without being accompanied by local people you know well. Going by car just to circle around the area and stopping by bank indonesia museum is ok though. The cafe batavia is also ok, and by ok I mean just ok... since the place is certainly overpriced. But for one time visit it wouldn't hurt.

Overall, this site were a nice place, but not today, now that its ruined.

“Short getaway rather than mall”
Reviewed 14 November 2013

Me and my boyf kinda boring visiting mall all over Jakarta, we visited there by transjakarta , a public bus which is well maintained for Jakarta's standard. Anyway, I love to eat, so I eat a lot in around museum haha. An afternoon visit will be great, since it's not too hot. Take a bicycle rent for fun, going round the area

“Interesting Part of Jakarta”
Reviewed 3 November 2013

I acrually visited Jakarta Tua-- the Old City twice with some Indoneisan friends this year. First time was in the early evening when the Plaza was busy with families eating and playing futbal, as well as tourists-- Got a chace to some fotos of the old buildings and of course, the cannon and just enjoyed walking around.
Second time we came in late afternoon- had some light food, and did more walking- taking in some of the nearby Harbor area. The Colonial buildings were great, and we also spent a few minutes in the 'night bazaar' that was setting up on the outside perimiter. Nothing there that I was looking to buy-- but still enjoyable.
