The building, built in 1760 as formerly private residence of Governor-General Reinier de Klerk, is now part of the cultural heritage of Jakarta. The building is Indies style house architecture. It's now being used as the venue for wedding, artistic performance, meeting etc but also open for public for sightseeing. Good for those enthusiast in colonial buildings and photography.

The "Arsip Nasional" is a landmark building form the Dutch colonial times which was restored very well some 20 years ago. It houses many important collections although the National Archives as such have moved to new premises in the southern part of Jakarta.
The building is located in the busy, old part of town but the big inner courtyard is an oasis of tranquility.

This is a must see. My teenage son and I enjoyed the well preserved artifacts and the interactive displays. Give yourself at least 90 minutes to go through the museum. No picture were allowed.

There was no explanation board, so we just went in front of building. We didn't see inside museum, but the building was beautiful. Just beautiful building to us.

One of the colonial buildings maintained well and often as function venue. Well trimmed grass & tree as well as well maintained buildings. People come normally for photography including those pre wedding pictures. Nothing much to see.
