Ciputra is a good hotel for stay in Jakarta. some 30-45 min from airport, if traffic is okaish there. Good clean rooms, very courteus staff, mall attached to hotel too !! only thing internet is thru cable, no wifi in rooms. Else a good place to stay.

I took a smoking room. But the smoke smell in the floor is a bit too much.

Dear Raj86,
Thank you for your recent stay at Hotel Ciputra Jakarta and for your review of the hotel titled "Jakarta". Your comments are noted and in particular the unpleasant cigarette smell in the floor corridors. The hotel has 9 floors of guest accommodation rooms, 7 floors are non smoking 2 floors namely floor 9 & 10 are designated smoking floors. With the high demand of this room type as you can imagine these rooms on this floor are nearly always fully booked, with this high demand the smell naturally will be over powering. With this in mind the hotel is very strict with the smoking and non smoking regulations and do enforce it vigorously. You had mentioned also the lack of wifi in rooms, we do have rooms allocated with this facility namely the Grand Deluxe Rooms on level 8 as well as on a request basis in our Executive Floor rooms. However wifi is available complimentary for our guests if using any Food & Beverage outlet in the hotel. All internet facilities apart from in our Banquet Suites are provided complimentary to our guests. Another good reason to ensure you return to stay at Hotel Ciputra Jakarta. Thank you again for staying with us and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.
Yours sincerely, Darren Earle, General Manager, Hotel Ciputra Jakarta.

If you have to go to Jakarta, then staying at this hotel is a welcome reprieve. Handy to the airport (30mins @ $15AUD by hotel car) and located above the Ciputra Shopping Centre it is a well presented hotel. Clean, with excellent decor, the hotel's key feature is the staff. Who ever trains them does a great job. Yes breakfast was in the lobby (temporary) but so what. It is a huge lobby and the food was plentiful, again with excellent service. Mind you staff do not seem to be in shortage anywhere in Jakarta.

Our room for two nights was on the 12 floor and was spacious and modern. The gym was excellent, except for the air-conditioning being inoperative, but still no complaints. The Wi-Fi is only in the lobby and not real strong. I still can't work out why quality hotels like this don't at least have a Wi-Fi station on each floor, its not that difficult. Then each room is serviced.

A basic taxi fair is around $3-4 so you don't walk. Taxi drivers were a lot of fun. Airports in Indonesia are cumbersome and inefficient so you really need a good reason to come to Jakarta. At least the hotel was the right choice, the shopping is good value and the people are friendly.

Dear VFrequentTravellers,
Thank you for your recent stay at Hotel Ciputra Jakarta as well as your review titled "An oasis in...." We are please to hear that you found the hotel to your liking and was convenient for your needs whilst in Jakarta. It certainly is pleasing to have a comfortable and relaxing environment to return home to after a day of battling it out in the city of Jakarta. You particularly mentioned in your review the employees of the hotel and how well trained they are, you are correct that the employees are certainly our biggest asset and we appreciate very much the good job they do. For your information wifi is available in some of our guest rooms namely our Grand Deluxe Rooms located on floor 8 as well as on a request basis in our Executive Club Rooms on floor 16 & 17. Wifi is available for all other guests in all our Food and Beverage outlets, Marble Court Lobby Lounge, Pulau Bar and Restaurant 7th Floor, Executive Club Lounge and when it opens the Gallery Restaurant on the 1st floor. In all other guest room type it is using a LAN Cable, but either way all internet is free whilst staying at Hotel Ciputra Jakarta.
Thank you again for your recent stay and review and we do look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Yours sincerely, Darren Earle, General Manager, Hotel Ciputra Jakarta.

i stayed in Ciputra 4 weeks during a business trip. The hotel is overall very nice, but the location can be inconvenient depending on where you need to go, because it quite far north compared to the central business district. It's not really very far "geographically", but with the extreme traffic it becomes challenging. A relatively short commute of 3-4 miles during rush hour may take 1 hour, or more. The hotel is adjacent to a shopping mall, which is quite convenient especially if you're staying more than just a couple of days. Unfortunately the main restaurant was undergoing a renovation, so breakfast (buffet) was served in the lobby bar/restaurant area. There was a bit of congestion some mornings and people had to wait to be able to have breakfast. Otherwise the breakfast was nice with an extensive buffet. The gym area is ok, but a bit small for a hotel that size. The pool is ok, with a nice pool bar. The spa facilities seem good. Overall service at the hotel is good, including the excellent laundry service, even if it's a bit pricey.

Dear Plog60,
Thank you for your recent stay on your business trip at Hotel Ciputra Jakarta and for your review titled "Good Hotel in an OK location". I am glad to hear that overall you found the hotel to your liking, your comments are all well noted but unfortunately I can not do anything about the traffic?? Generally we find here in Jakarta that guests choose there hotel based on there needs and stay close to where they need to go. Hotel Ciputra's location with the close proximity to the airport as well as the CBD, close access to the toll road and above a shopping mall is always an advantage or a plus for guests staying with us. I am sorry that you experienced dis-comfort with our restaurant renovation we are hoping that this will be finished very soon. Thank you once again for choosing to stay at Hotel Ciputra Jakarta and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Yours sincerely, Darren Earle, General Manager, Hotel Ciputra Jakarta.

Stayed here for 1 night to avoid Jakarta traffic jam. Room is clean and love it. Got a problem with internet connection and it's not the hotel's fault but the set up of my laptop. Asked their IT to fixed it and they come right away. Voila, it's works well!
Overall stayed was good and breakfast very good, my mum said their sausage is the best she ever tried.
My main complaint is the concierge, we shopped alot and our luggage is not enough. Asking for a box, but never deliver it. After several hours later, the guest service team asking whether they have deliver the box. It's takes too long just to deliver the box.

My children call this hotel our home in Jakarta. They prefer it over any other hotel we've been to so far. We have been using Hotel Ciputra as our hub in Jakarta since 2007.
They love the executive floor, but that doesn't always fit our budget I'm afraid.
The location, adjacent to a mall, close to toll road and airport is the first plus.
The very friendly and helpful staff is the second big plus.
The bakery that produces great breads and cakes is the third plus.
The pool, with pool area also is an absolute plus.
The only downside are the renovations that have been going on for quite some time now...no doubt the results will be spectacular, but having breakfast in the lobby while the restaurant is being refurbished is less spectacular (might be reason to knock off some of the rate).
Also, 3G reception within the building is virtually non existent, there is not WiFi in every area or room, meaning that with an iPad or phone one might feel a bit cut off from the net. The hotel's fixed internetconnecion however is adequate.

All in all, definitely a place to go to if you don't like spending most of your time in a taxi in stead of in a mall, and if you like to be treated friendly by hotel staff!

Room Tip: Go for the superior de luxe rooms, they cost little more but are very spacious!

Dear Dick Smama,
Thank you for your recent review of Hotel Ciputra Jakarta as well as your continued support since 2007. You would certainly have seen many changes take place during that time. I am very please to hear that Hotel Ciputra Jakarta is your preferred choice of accommodation whilst in Jakarta. We apologize that our current renovation of the Gallery Restaurant is not completed yet and temporarily Breakfast is served in our lobby. We do know that this is not the ideal arrangement and ask our guests for there understanding whilst it gets completed. Once open you will not recognize the outlet as it really is being "Transformed" with direct access to Mall Ciputra from the restaurant as well as 2 new private dining rooms and 2 new state of the art meeting rooms with all what our clients require when having an event at Hotel Ciputra Jakarta.
Thank you again for your support to the hotel and we look forward to welcoming you once again to the hotel in the very near future. Yours sincerely, Darren Earle, General Manager

During the planning and preparation stage of my exhibit in Jakarta, this hotel was recommended by one of my colleagues. Since he traveled quite a few times before to Jakarta, we opted for his recommendation. We booked our hotel via Hotelclub.com (which by the way was so taxing for our Admin girl since it was very troublesome to make changes with this portal. Since it's an Australian-based booking portal, she had to wait for the proper timezone where she can liaise with a customer service officer. Lesson-learned, which I told our Admin, book directly from the hotel's website. It's easier, faster and much stress-free to coordinate and liaise with.

I should say this hotel is very far from from the Jakarta International Kemayoran Expo. And it's a must to consider - the hours that you'll spend for traveling because of the traffic. I love the hotel's facilities, their swimming pool is big enough when I took a dip in the morning. I also get to laze around the pool are at night (with a good sound of music). And the best perk of all is that the shopping mall is located just below the hotel. So even if I had limited time to shop, since we were working the whole day, I still managed to find a few things I could buy.

One thing that really shocked me during this trip happened on the first night. After a day of hard work (exhibiting and standing), I wanted to go for a body massage. But to no avail, no shop from the mall would entertain a lady customer - it's a local custom. So I had no choice and I ended up getting the hotel's body massage service. Although I paid for a hefty price, it was still worth the investment since my body was aching from the work prep of my exhibition booth.

The food being served during breakfast buffet was so boring. They served the same food everyday so even if we kept our eyes closed, we would've known where the rice, egg, bread and noodles are placed.

The hotel receptionists were very accommodating when we had some issues with our reservations from hotelclub.com. Overall, we paid for a justifiable price during our entire stay here.

We arrived early evening - after a fight through Jakarta's rush hour traffic having arrived by train from Yogyakarta. When I say fight - there were literally fights at blocked traffic junctions as the whole system ground to gridlock! Not the hotel's fault.

We had requested a twin room. They didn't have one - and instead gave us a put u up bed. Not good. The room was standard issue, but the bathroom could have been cleaner and the toilet flushing lever leaked water.

The hotel restaurant was closed for renovation and so was the business centre. If you think you can get a good meal at the shopping mall attached to the hotel - think again. It is almost exclusively aimed at young Indonesians wanting fast Japanese style food. Pizza Hut is about as sophisticated as it gets. There really isn't a good eating option in the whole mall.

Buffet breakfast was in the foyer and was OK.

Next day we were moved to another room - this time it was a twin. The toilet flushing lever in the bathroom leaked just as bad as the first room. However our request for non-smoking rooms was honoured.

The only redeeming factor is that this hotel is close to the airport expressway - and so you can generally get to the airport without trouble. Otherwise Jakarta is so spread out and the traffic so awful that you can't really say any hotel is conveniently located.

We paid different rates for the two nights. Just an anomaly of booking online, but at US$123 the first night and US$113 the second night I don't think this was particularly cheap for what you get. If I had to go to Jakarta again I would look at alternatives to this hotel. It might be better when the renovation work and restaurant are open again. We were allowed to use the VIP lounge to print out boarding passes for our flight in the absence of the business centre - but were charged for this. No wifi in the rooms.

Room Tip: Get there early.

Dear Draviwake,
Thank you for your recent stay at Hotel Ciputra Jakarta as well as your comprehensive review not only of the hotel property but also Jakarta and our attached shopping mall. Your comments are all noted and well received and we will strive to do much better. it is important for us to receive criticism to enable us to improve ourselves. We do apologize that we have closed for refurbishment our first floor of the hotel which housed the hotel's main restaurant as well as the business centre. Unfortunately for us to improve our facilities for our guests there may be inconvenience, we try to inform our guests of this inconvenience and we have posted this information on our web booking page. I would also like to clarify that Hotel Ciputra Jakarta does have complimentary wifi in our guest rooms, Grand Deluxe Rooms on the 8th floor as well as 16 & 17th Floor, Executive Floor rooms have this facility, wifi is also available in our Marble Court Lobby Lounge as well as Pulau Bar & Restaurant on the 7th Floor all complimentary. With the closure of the main restaurant due to refurbishment, Pulau Bar and Restaurant on the 7th floor may have been a more suitable alternative than dining in the Mall Ciputra.
Thank you once again for your stay with us we look forward of having the opportunity once again to accommodate you at Hotel Ciputra Jakarta. Yours sincerely, Darren Earle, General Manager, Hotel Ciputra Jakarta.
