Everything was ok the room, breakfast are nice. Location are strategic near bus station and train station. The Borobudur Gourmet cake tastes nice. I like the swimming pool and the jogging track also. But one thing disturbed my holiday is the bathroom was leaking, when we turned on the sink. But overall its ok and recommended for staying in Jakarta

Drinks in the bar were horrible and took 45 minutes to get when I was the only customer, lunch sandwich for $14 USD was kiddie sized, wi-fi is not free in rooms, and my credit card was over charged. Will never come back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

The Borobudur hotel recreates a nice, typical atmosphere with his wide garden, his furniture and room setting. It also offer quite many restaurants in the building, but the average quality was not satisfying. The position is a bit out of the city life, especially if you compare it to that of other facilities in the city (e.g. Grand Hyatt, Ritz Carlton). Good and cheap spa.
Recommended if you want a quite place.

We stayed there for two nights, wanted to see whether it was the same hotel I stayed in as a kid. Heard that the legendary Borobudur Hotel has been resurrected after falling into obscurity in the 90s. So I was a bit cautious stepping into the lobby. But my doubt was answered instantly by the legend. Checkin was fast, staff were friendly, quick, really high standard. I booked aPremier Deluxe but then was upgraded into executive, which was awesome! I faces the pool, room size was adequate, got a small loveseat, working table and standard luggage rack. I love the fact that we didn't have to go anywhere, we walked on the jogging track, had a swim, chat in the lobby, really saves us money and time..which is such a luxury amongst the horrible traffic of Jakarta.
Here's the sum-up:
Likes:
1. High quality bed
2. Environtment, really forgot that we were in one of Asia's busiest (and most crowded) city, lush garden, quiet surrounding..actually feel at peace in the middle of Jakarta.
3. Great staff, everybody was courteous.
4. Location, cannot really walk from the hotel, but only a short taxi drive to the station, popular malls.

Dislikes:
1. Breakfast was a bit dissapointing for a hotel of this pedigree, was too crowded, selection a bit dissaponting, taste so so.

Room Tip: Tips, it gets a bit packed on weekends since many local families stay and use the facilities there...

I have been in this hotel for more than 10 times. My last stay before was 2 years ago. At this time, Sept 22, 2012, I chose Premier Deluxe roomtype. The lobby is so wide and esthetic. The room looks more beautiful and comfortable. The staff at reception and concierge were friendlier than before.

Breakfast:
there were 2 kind of croissants: almond with vla and wholewheat, tasty.
fried rice, fried noodle: average
omeletes: you dont need to wait, always ready

Garden: very big and beautiful, good for jogging
Gym: good facility. Many treadmills with TV. Trainers are ready and friendly

Just like someone else already wrote here, this place makes it easy to forget that you are in Jakarta - whether this is a good thing will be different for everybody.
The place is huge and quite busy when I was there. Once inside, prices for everything (drinks, internet) are quite ridiculous. A taxi ride to Starbucks, and a coffee, is cheaper than a hour of wireless internet in this hotel.
For me the main attraction that outweighs all else is the beautiful pool, especially because it's open until late so you can have it all to yourself after dark. Swim surrounded by bats only - eh, and mosquitoes of course.
Some of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, others not at all.
