We stayed here for 4 nights and once you get your bearings, it is a fairly central place to stay.

We were surprised by the size of the rooms, not only were they huge, they were spotless and serviced on a daily basis. We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms, which is situated towards the back (Room 6 - Jasmine) and it was very quiet at night and next door to the communal kitchen you can use.

It is a good idea to get the business card from the Parragon hotel across the road to tell taxi drivers where to go as the main entrance for Wahid Yashim is just marked with the number 44 on the outside.

The staff/management do not offer any assistance in terms of town maps, bus tickets, or any other advice, so just go across the road to the Parragon Hotel and they are more than happy to help you.

The guest house is about a 10-15 minute walk from Jalan Thamrin where all the bigger hotels/shopping malls and eateries are located. It is also less than a 3 minute walk to the train station, so you can be in Kota in about 10 minutes!

Room Tip: Stay in a room towards the back for less traffic noise.

If you  are on a short budget..
If you are scary of missing a train in Gambir station on the following day, or in an appointment with American embassy, government headquarters, or in rush of getting a event at national museum. There are in addition to, of course, several other interesting places surrounding such as the presidential palace ang governatorial house of mr. Jokowi.
When you want  cheap eats...just walk heading Gondangdia station...every delicious indonesian food is there from Minang to Tegal..

It is clean, save n having a great  hospitality though.
No welcome drink...well i arrived at 2 am but i have called to arrive at fast after 11pm.
No towel n no soap but nice room n shower.  A very ordinary Kitchen is available for self cooking, cofee and tea.  dont forget to wash the dishes after you use them. Remember this hotel is more like your sweet home. Do it your self..

My advise for the owner: you can add the value of your bussiness with bike cycle   rental. Some interesting venues are surrounding you on walking distances. Also you can provide free secured lockers for checked out guests. ( you may bill the guests after two days use).

Tips: rarely people know about this guest house...if you want to ask people on the street about this guest house on the street better to name jl wahid hasyim 44, or much easier Paragon hotel which is just across the house.

Wanting to stay around Jalan Jaksa me and my friend circled the area for hours finding a nice place for a good rate. All the basic hotels/guesthouses on Jalan Jaksa are in such a poor condition and even if you are willing to pay a bit more (350.000rp or up) you run away screaming once you've seen the room. On the other hand there are plenty of nice hotels on Jl.KH.Wahid Hasyim, but most are too expensive (500.000rp and up).
Luckily we found Wahid Hasyim Guest House....and it's simply amazing. It's just around the corner of Jalan Jaksa (opposite of hotel Peragon, but be aware that the guesthouse name is not on the gate, but enter at number 44). The rooms are super large, clean with nice showers, AC, tv with cable, internet (working pretty good) and the price is only 350.000rp per night (we even got a discount because we took a couple of rooms for several nights). It's simply amazing and will never stay anywhere else anymore. There is no breakfast, but a kitchen to use and several local places to choose from around.
I loved it!!!

Room Tip: We had room number 4 Lotus a bit in the front. You can hear the traffic, but it's hard not to hear traffic in Jakarta. The rooms in the back might be a bit less noisy. Our room didn't have windows, but I loved it, because it's super big in corner shape.
