Check in : fast and efficient.
Room : comfortable bed. Lacks the usual bells and whistles of newer Novotel. Inadequate charging plug points. Clogged drainage in shower resulting mini flood...
Housekeeping : shower and shampoo not replenished
Condition : clean non-smoking room, but corridor already reeks of cigarette smell in this just opened hotel!
Ambience : despite being placed in 11th floor, could near traffic from the busy Jln Gajah Mada. There was a Saturday poolside (7th floor) function in the evening - loud music blasting through the night, poor room sound insulation. Ask for room opposite pool and road.
In house spa : very slow service, waited 20min for masseur to arrive, but provided very relaxing Javanese massage at reasonable price. Clogged drainage in shower again!
Breakfast : major disappointment. Staff inattentive to coffee and tea needs. Food tasted bland. Egg station chef overcooked omelette and scrambled egg (told him to stop when noticed long cooking time) resulting in dry and hard egg.
Check-out : only one staff attending at 1030am. Very slow front desk service, staff checked long time before realised room was prepaid. Then had to call housekeeing attendant to check mini-bar, who will then call back front desk before you are allowed to go, like in lesser hotel.
Disappointed with this stay. Will stick to nearby Mercure Kota in future.
