“Best place to meet but not to eat...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2013 via mobile

My first experience having lunch at Dijan was not so good. I won't give any complain about the taste of the food or beverage, i decide to rate it as "very good", while for its service, i decide to rate it as "poor". it is not because of the waitress' service/hospitality, but more than to the fact that we have to wait for sooooo long to enjoy our food/beverage (almost 1hour). For those who suffer for hunger (as me and my friends did), i would not recommend this restaurant. You cant fulfil your basic need to eat just by looking around or enjoy the cozy place rite?

Surely now i know the best place to meet, but not to eat.

“No pretence - just consistent standard of food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 September 2012 via mobile

Been here on numerous occasions over the past 4 years. The food is authentic Dutch. Pancakes are delicious and overall tasty dishes. Well priced.

The restaurant is in an old building and you get the feeling that you are in someone's house. It's a tranquil place - unrushed and no snobbery as in other Kemang restaurants. You come here to eat homestyle food - chat a bit and leave.

The waiters and waitresses are very subdued and hardly speak.

Don't go here if your purpose of going out is to show off your iPad and fancy shoes

“Niet de oude Nederlands-Indië Smaak”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2012

If you think the place will bring you back the taste of 'het oude Nederlands-Indië', then this place may disappoint you a bit. Aside from the savory dutch thin pancake, and part of the main course like 'biefstuk' ...the rest of the menu seems a bit inconsistent with the restaurant's theme. Too bad since the building itself is a classic indo-dutch colonial home. And not to mention the pricey soda (Rp 20,000). Could've been so much better.

“Best breakfast joint in Jakarta”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2012

Finally!! a great breakfast place for a breakfast lover like me =). for the record, i'm talking about dijan's 2nd yaa.. They serve breakfast every Friday-Sunday from 7am-11am. Great coffee, the food is to die for. for sweet tooth, then the pancake with butterscotch sauce and banana are the one for you.. For others, you must try the baked eggs or the poached eggs. Everything is made fresh daily.. including the breads and the salmon and the beef are cured in house, makes it even more delish. Stick around for a while until the restaurant downstairs open at 11am, and order their famous banana pannekoek with gula jawa. yum yumm
