“Okay location, big room, otherwise below average”
Reviewed 25 December 2013

Though everything looks new and the room and bathroom size is exceedingly generous (yet little bathroom bench space), they have issues.

They tried to give us a second key for the room, but long story short, it never worked, and often one of us was locked out of the room. The first time this happened on our second day, the staff had the nerve to tell us it was because of non-payment of our bill!

Though most places I have stayed at in Indonesia have ant and mosquito issues, this place included, it was the first time we'd encountered a massive hornet in our room late at night. A fly-screen/mosquito netting on the bathroom window would have fixed this!

The breakfast was average, but the staff were generally lovely, called us taxis, and spoke decent English.

It's located a short walk from a street with many establishments aimed at tourists, including restaurants, motorbike rentals and hostels.
Though it's on a main road, the rooms are back from it, so road traffic isn't an issue.

Good things :
- the room is quite big for such a price
- the staffs were very helpful, they helped us arranged our bus reservation to semarang
- check in and check out were easy, however they didn't accept debit card for payment
- the bathroom's shower is rain-type, and yes this is my favorite kind of shower :)
- the AC was working well

Bad things :
- the location is quite far from malioboro street, but it is near the south alun-alun of keraton
- no public transportation, except taxis and rickshaws
- food stalls aren't that much around this area
- so basically i think the location is not that good, you cannot reach it by walking or by bus, i suggest you to rent a car or a motorcycle if you choose to stay here
- the room is smelly and not really bright
- the linen and towels are stained, and the water drainage in bathroom wasn't working well that time
- breakfast only till 9 am

in conclusion.. it was a so so, keep it up pose in hotel!

Average class . Below their counterpart Pose In in Solo city.
We booked this hotel without any clue where it is located - no map and indication at time of booking. Stay period 29June-03July 2013. Found that the hotel is quite far-off from Yogya central. Not much to eat as well in the vincinity. Not even a Seven11 or Minimart around to get us more drinking water and snacks. Public Transport to/from is rather awkward . We thought this Yogya joint had the same standard we experienced at Pose in Solo town. Alas...not really...
Room is average , bed is clean but aircon is smelly , most probably the stale air of a room which did not have sufficient circulation. Bathroom needs good cleaning , specially the wash-basin .. much soap residue were not adequately cleaned off.
Breakfast is so so...something just to fill your stomach basically , less than standard chow frill and much below the Solo town . Staff are friendly and polite , but (as we are rather active) found they were slowpokes !! In overall all is below their counterpart Solo Pose In

Room Tip: Before you book, make sure you know the property location against what your activities are.

So, the localization is the best side of that hotel.
Smiling and pretending friendly staff as everywhere.
The breakfast is quite eatable...and now the bad things:
-Stained sheet (blood probably, changed on demand)
-Gray stained towels (blood this time 99%)
-Fungus and moisture on walls.
-Fungus and moisture evolving form AC.
-Bathroom kinda dirty also some wall bobbles growing.
-Dirty window cover
-Gecko in the room
-Ants in the room
-Breakfast till 9AM (claimed till 10 but its its not true)
-Paid Internet with slow transfer.
-Window is not opening
-The window cover does not isolate form sunlight so you wake up with sunrise.

I have no clue why this hotel has such high grades.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel.

This hotel ticked most of the boxes for our Yogya stay.
The room was very clean and serviced daily, great shower. It was a little dark with no natural sunlight! The staff were friendly however English understanding was fairly low. Having said that they were good at wake up calls, taxi booking etc.
Location was decent for exploring the Kraton and only 10 main walk to the touristy street Prawirotaman.
I would recommend for anyone on the $25 budget.

- Myself and my wife stayed there for 3 nights during our trip to Indonesia. Jogja is a base for the world-known attractions - Prambanan, Borobudur, Plateau Dieng and many more.
First impression:
- We arrived to Jogyakarta from Surabaya by train. The hotel is not so far from the train station and the taxi driver asked 50 000 IDR (5 USD) - it was too much for Indonesia. The final price was 30 000 IDR (3USD). The driver for 40 mins was unable to find the hotels in the main street. He told he was from the village and did't know the city. I gave him 30 000 IDR, no more, it was his problem...

Pros:
- The hotel looked good, looked like a new one.
- Air-conditioning worked well.
- They have rather big rooms with big toilet/shower room.
- Breakfast was good.
- Location is in 15 min walk to Kraton (Sultan's Palace), opposite the ATM and in 10 min walk to minimarket with snacks and beer.

Cons:
- The staff wasn't effective - because they didn't understand English at all - no maps, no advices, no excursions - I had to take drivers in the street to get to the tourist attractions. The staff simply said that they didn't provide those services. But I must say on the day of check out a girl at the reception desk spoke good English - this is the comment to the owners - who must work there at the hotel!! Language must be mandatory!!
- The room was noisy, mainly from the hotel staff. Every morning at about 5 am we heard noisy cries from the staff people who worked and noisy cried downside - the room was located near the staircase – maybe the kitchen or office were there...
- Sometimes the guests went to the corridor to talk to each other or to call the cell at night time.
- I respect any religion - God bless everybody - there are some mosques close to the hotel, the first prayer starts at 3.50 am with loudspeakers acoustics.
- There was a window above the entrance door of the room. They have the light in the corridor all the night. Correspondingly, you have the light in your room all the night.
- Slow Wi-Fi, it's interrupted every 5 or 10 mins in the room, stable only at the reception.

Resume:
For the service and conditions provided it's overpriced - 36 USD is too much for both according to Indonesian prices!
