I stayed in the Ibis Jogjakarta quite recently, as all over the world Ibis is the same. Lay-out of rooms good, complete and clean bathroom, bar downstairs, with, especially interesting for the Western traveller, cocktails and even a bottleshop.
Frontdesk fast, friendly and efficiënt. Free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. From the hotel you walk right into a lange shopping mall, and for the toerist there are many batik shops close by.
Breakfast is average, not Western, not Indonesian.
All in all a good choice.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 days. as we read from the trip advisor, that this hotel got good rating, but what we got is less than we expected. The linen and towel was not clean enough, especially the towel was more brownish than white in color. the furniture was old and had many stain and scratch every where. the room had no security chain locked. The Wifi is very disappointing, you must go near the elevator to got connected to their Wifi. for that it is only boasting to promoted that they provided free Wi Fi in the room. The Pool is not really a swimming pool as it is only a small Plunge pool and the worst is they allowed the guest get in to pool with daily dress or shirt. The Service is Good the recioptionist and all the waiter and waitress is very polite. The Breakfast had little varieties. but the good is the claimed that the used no MSG for all the food. overall what they offered is less value for the money that we paid

Room Tip: try to get the room facing east, as a mosque with many loudspeakers is standing in the south west of the hotel

if your into international standard hotels with a bland atmosphere the ibis will fill all of your requirments . the ibis has a great location for shopping and dining , but the lack of a balconie and opening windows was not for me , the rooms are well maintained with a moderate price , all in all a good hotel for 1 or 2 nights .
