“Lovely Hotel”
Reviewed 31 March 2014

Stayed in this lovely hotel for 4 nights mid March 2014. Lovely clean and comfortable hotel, in a beautiful garden setting. Hotel is beautifully maintained and staff are friendly and helpful. A lovely touch is the arrival of afternoon tea each evening in the form of a cake or homemade treat.
A tour to Borabador was easily arranged at the reception desk, and a breakfast box was supplied by the hotel, for the early morning tour. (a breakfast box was also supplied for my early morning departure by train for Surabaya) Tea and coffee making facilities provided in room, and the only negative with the room was the lack of a bar fridge, so needed for cold drinks and snacks in a tropical climate. I would definitely satay in this hotel again.

We stayed last month with my family in one of the cheaper rooms (not the poolside bungalows). Unlike some hotels which lets kids stay free, we had to pay an extra 100,000 for each kids for a mattress on the floor. Worked out fine for us even though the room was small.

I appreciated the hotel's attention to detail.... 4 bottles of water in our rooms instead of 2, an afternoon snack daily, airport transfer, etc. The service was fine although the English ability was sporadic, and we were often quoted different prices for drinks we'd purchase at the front desk. (A posted pricelist might be a good idea?) Breakfasts were just OK. And, all the mosques in the area results in quite a cacophony. I was surprised at how early they start.

When we got there, the pool was closed down (as were all the pools in Jogya) due to heavy ashfall from the recent volcano. Not sure if it had to do with us expressing our disappointment or not, but they soon started cleaning and filling. Within two days, the pool was re-opened again. We heard from other tourists that other hotel's pools were still closed for a while.. My boys love swim time and we always love cooling down after a hot day of sightseeing. The pool and the pool setting is reason enough to stay here.

And, I imagine if you spend the extra to stay at the poolside villas, this would be the perfect home-away-from-home in Yogya. I would stay here again,,

Room Tip: Spurlge for the poolside villa. They looked amazing.

Why:
1. Because you can book the airport transfer for 100.000 IDR
2. Because the garden is far from the noisy streets
3. Because it's a botanical garden in the middle of a dry tropical city
4. Because the staff is very welcoming
5. Because you can book the taxi directly from the hotel without any additional fee
6. Because you can book the tours to Borobudur and Prambanan temples with reasonable fees; the drivers were very attentive and, sometimes, even though they were not supposed to replace the guide, the acted like them
7. Because you can even buy the Borobudur & Prambanan package ticket directly from the hotel
8. Because you can buy the ticket for Ramayana Ballet directly from the reception
9. Because the swimming pool is very clean and the area around it is very relaxing
10. Because it has free WiFi
11. Because it is built in Javanese style
Why not:
1. Because the toilet was not fully functional
2. Because there were many mosquitoes in the garden
3. Because there was no fridge in the room - therefore the afternoon cakes were always full of ants when we arrived at night
4. Because in the immediate neighborhood there is a mosque and you may be woken up by the prayers at 4:30 am
In spite of these cons the place is a very quite one, a splendid oasis in the Prawirotaman area which I strongly recommend.

I'm surprised to see this place doesn't have more stars. We stayed for a few days in december 2013 and really enjoyed it. Lovely room (great bathroom). Very quiet. Great garden layout (really lush). Very professional staff. Hired a taxi for an afternoon and everything went perfectly with no hidden charges or anything at all unpleasant. Highly recommended.

Super sweet staff, clean spacious and reasonably priced rooms, good breakfast. The fan wasn't working in our room so they set up a table fan instead. Worked fairly well. They had a mini gym too! Overall, a very good stay.

Lovely. welcome juice on arrival, spacious room. Helpful staff, beautiful garden.
Comfy bed, super oasis far from the bustle, but near enough, simple two dollar ride by taxi.
No room safe however, but it's no biggy.

Fabulous! Great garden areas, lovely pool, water channels and waterfalls, fabulous food. Rooms are large and well appointed. Excellent security. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Wifi is poor and restricted to lobby and nearby - and was so slow it was essentially useless.
