“not bad but tastes like instant miso soup”
Reviewed 6 November 2013

I tried Miso-Ten's specialty, the miso ramen, and found it tasty but not spectacular. The flavor lacks depth and reminds me of instant miso soup mixes. The soup was not hot enough. The noodles were good, though, chewy and springy. The slices of chasyu were thin and sparse, despite the high price tag. I also ordered some tori karaage which was nice and juicy.

There was a problem with the exhaust system. The whole place smelled like smoke from the deep fryers and when I came out of the restaurant, my hair and clothes smelled like smoke, too. They need a much stronger exhaust system.

The staff were very attentive, though. They also have a gimmick wherein you choose a pair of colored chopsticks after you finish a bowl of ramen, with each color corresponding to a prize. Factoring this into the final bill, the noodles end up reasonably-priced since you get a chance to win a goody.

“The Ramen Wars”
Reviewed 3 November 2013

On to the Ramen wars now in the country
Miso-ten has 2 branches now - Robinsons Place Manila and one in Robinsons Magnolia
In Manila, Miso-ten is outside the mall premises at the Pedro Gil side.
We manage to try this place out after i had an online discount voucher from another food review site.
Upon entering the restaurant, one can notice that smoky smell of deep frying tempura.
Staff are attentive and will seat you right away. As a matter of fact, they are also trained to entice curious people who are looking at the menu outside figuring out what this Ramen place can give.

On to the food:
The noodles are excellent. Taste and the texture is definitive of the "Ramen". It include eggs with the creamy yolks. The pork is tender without the bones. I find the broth just with the right saltiness but too much sake (rice wine). I am not sure if one can request to reduce the wine.
The size is good enough to share by 2 people.
The gyoza is good and fresh. Something the most patrons order. They also provide service tea.

They serve Pepsi products and Nawasa water (tap and unfiltered).

If you got tired of the usual noodle like Mami (tasty but with a lighter soup), Miso-ten ramen will give you a heavier soup, delicious eggs with creamy yolks and tender meat that will spell a lot of difference.
