Cheap hotel with nothing to offer. We booked at batangas pier without knowing a thing about this hotel. Still best to research places ahead of trip. If its a consolation, ferry to batangas is right in front

Nothing special on this resort. Room we got is small for 6 people. Good thing it's just for our team building so I didn't mind getting a place to really relax and enjoy Puerto Galera. Coz if that's what you are looking for, don't stay on this place. One good thing about this resort is the location. Just a few mins away from the beach. Their restaurant also that serves affordable meals is a plus.

I and my friends' first time in Puerto Galera wasn't good of an experience.

PG is soooo overrated. It's not even close to what Laiya or Bolinao could offer. The beach is rocky and rough. The water's weedy. Thanks to its promiximity to the Metro, it has become a destination for many to escape from the summer heat but then again, if you have the resources, better opt a stay in Boracay or someplace so to not spoil your search for peace of mind.

Nightlife was boring. You have very limited choices of local bars to dig your butt into.

We reached PG at dusk after the riding a boat from Batangas Pier to the island of Mindoro. It was post summer time when we came and there were still quite a number of packs in the island. My tired friend was convinced by one of the beach bidders to stay at V&M Resort Hotel which is one of the low rise hotels along the shore (I am not sure though why Filipino hotel businessmen are used to having their properties near the beach to come along with the word 'Resort' even if it doesn't really offer a single amenity of what a real resort-type hotel really does).

So, there it goes, we were offered one of the dimly lit rooms at the lower ground of the four or three storey building (not sure). We got two beds. A crappy, tight, aging bathroom. A small, fat TV. All in all, it was pretty basic. It's one of those hotels that you pay the tangibles without any service being added.

The only thing good about the property is it's proximity to the beach. That's about it.

Room Tip: There are lots of mosquitoes outside the rooms at night, so better stay inside.

Don't book at Batangas Pier. Turns out the rate we paid was more than double the actual rate :| This lady at the Pier tricked us.

We should have chosen another resort, which offered its true rates.

It was a so-so resort. The water was dirty, and the shower was weak. It was good we had mineral water with us for brushing teeth.

But good location and food (not included in our rate).

But be careful on booking. Also we never left the key at the front desk. We always had it with us.

Stayed with family just recently. We get 1 family room and 1 quadruple room in the second floor of V.M.
It was low season when we stayed there so entire place was not crowded. Nothing fancy about the rooms since the amount that we paid for is very minimal. 3,500 pesos per night for family room which can accommodate up to 10 people and 2,000 pesos per night for quadruple room for max of 6 people.Room was very simple. It is fully air-conditioned, with small TV and typical bathroom. That's it.

What I love here is that they aren't strict with number of headcount. Staff is very lenient in terms of number of maximum capacity, but the downside here is that security might get compromised if you forget to lock your room and you forget something on the hallway and such so when you stay here it is a must t take care of your belongings since V.M is very open. Also, it is also your own responsibility to make sure that your room is clean, there are no room attendants available to do that for you. There is only 1 rug inside the room and no broom and dustpan available. You have to ask for it in the reception.

In terms of booking, you may find it a hard time to speak with their booking and reservation officers, you need to have lots of patience when dealing with them, good thing is you do not need to stress yourself with downpayment since you can pay everything when you get checked in. Also, it is advisable that you bring drinking water and alcoholic drinks since all goodies in the said resort is pricey.

I do not recommend going here if you have high standards for board and lodging but if you are on a tight budget and looking for a simple place to sleep at, then this is for you. Again, please do not expect anything with V.M. Nothing fancy and it will not meet your requirement if you are used with high end hotel and such.

You should know before going to Puerto Galera that you wont spend much time in a hotel. Located right in the middle of White Beach, everything the place has to offer is on your doorstep. Great location. Its definitely a bare-minimum economic hotel, but it works if you arent looking for a resort. Its got the basics that you need, small tele, AC and shower, and is a good place to rest your head and keep your things. Beware of leaving items hanging to dry on the line outside, half of our things went missing during the night! All in all, cant complain. Ive definitely stayed in worse places while paying more.

Room Tip: Ask to see all rooms avail, some are better than others!
