Sunset at Aninuan Beach Resort

You can never go wrong with this place. Sunset in Aninuan is a perfect place for relaxation, either with your whole family, friends, or even just you and your partner. It is owned and managed by the very nice and cool Tita Lexy Niederer, together with her accommodating staff that make the place even more amazing. The rooms are nice, you can have the view of the ocean from there. What i like most about Sunset is it's peaceful and quiet surrounding, you can take a walk in the shore, sit on the hammocks and have a lovely conversation with someone unlike the noise that you can hear in White Beach where all the parties are happening (but you can go there too if you wish just get a trike and pay a hundred pesos for the service). Since we are so tired of the hustle and bustle of the city, we decided to just stay in the hotel. Their swimming pool is nice and clean, very well maintained which our daughter enjoyed the best. In Sunset, guests are not allowed to bring heir own food so you have to order from their restaurant, foods that we tasted during our stay are quite okay. It was my hubby, mom and daughter's first time to go to Galera and we enjoyed it so much for we chosen the right place to stay. Sunset in Aninuan is a haven for people who are looking for a perfect getaway! We will definitely come back for more!

Great place, terrible staff. We are very impressed with the place, and the facility. So my cousins decided to stay @ 3 suites.  At the start,we were told that discounts will be applied, however during our registration we were informed that breakfast is not included in the accomodation and have an in depth dispute about children under 5 charging them as adults.  These incdidents were only one of the many terrible experience we encountered with  the staff.  when we request for additional bedsheet, the managers (les and sheryl) refused. The extra pillows that we requested in the end, have also extra charges. This hotel claimed to be a 4 star rating however, everytime we requested  for some extra toiletries -- they have none. Additionally, the manager Sheryl  can not even accept a reasonable or constructive critism- she even walk away and snub the guests as we make any suggestive  comments. Puerta Gallera so much to offer, perfect place to contemplate, good food and most of all one of the best scenic place we ever been. However, Sunset Resort staff have ruined our almost perfect experiences with the staff.

If you ever decided to stay at this hotel check first if les or sheryl is still connected in this resort so as to make a memorable and good experience with your vacation.

Room Tip: If you ever choose the empress suite please dont ever try. You will never be treated like an empress...

We found this place on Trip Advisor, and didn't have such high expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised at the amazing staff, great location and beautiful beach.

Les, the manager made is feel right at home as did all the staff. Would definitely stay here again. Amazed that such a nice quiet hotel can be found so close to the chaos of Manila.

Once there you dont want to leave anymore! So friendly and helpful staff. The beach and the sea is just perfect. There is a gym and dive shop. The choice of food is very good and the cooking excellent. Rooms are big and nicely designed! There is no other place on the island like this!

My wife and I came for some R&R after a week in Manila. We found that and more: super-attentive staff, clean rooms, a great view of the ocean and sunsets, and a laid-back mood that suited us well. We're Canadians in our early 60s, used to travelling, and we appreciated this casual type of pampering. We read, we swam, we snorkeled, we ate (including tons of mangos, mmm), and we slept well.

We're vegetarians, and the menu accommodated our needs. We particularly loved the veggy pizza.

We stayed in the New wing, in a third floor room overlooking the sea (Junior room, facing West), away from the road. Lovely. Day and night we listened to the waves lapping onto the beach.

There's a sand beach that provides a lovely walk -- 20 minutes in one direction, 10 minute in the other but with a 5-minute walk over some rocks that walk extends into White Beach, which provides another 20 minutes of walking. We particularly appreciated our early morning walks.

It's a fishing bay, with boats going out almost around the clock. These are small outriggers, and it's fascinating to watch the fishers. In the mornings one boat will bring freshly-caught fish to the resort for the staff to purchase. Ensure that you're up early enough (7 to 8 am), having breakfast outside, to see this happen.

We also stayed during the week, which tends to be much quieter, we're told. One day there were only two other guests in the whole place. Weekends are busier with expats arriving from Manila to chill out.

Lez was our contact person (sunset_aninuanbeachresort@yahoo.com). He replied promptly to our queries, and was also present everyday; a great conversationalist.

It took us about 4 hours to get here from Manila, in a comfortable air-conditioned bus followed by an outrigger ferry. Hotel staff picked us up at the ferry terminal. Easy and convenient.

You'll be in good hands at this resort.

Room Tip: We chose a room that did not run along the road (which is not all that busy btw) and were delighted...

The place is good, view good, food so-so, rooms are better than what you would normally have in Puerto Galera. Stayed for a night in this resort and decided to extend for another night. The resort was full so accepted that an extension was not possible. Just decided to stay at the beach front after checking out before taking off. Wow! to our surprise. we were asked to leave as their beachfront was only reserved for guests (guests who haven't checked out). We requested for a little consideration considering that the tables were not full and we were still waiting for our ride back to Manila. The answer was No! Service before check-out......Good.....Service after check-out......Cruel. It was like these people have switches that automatically shuts down after you check-out. It was a blessing in disguise. Because of this, we discovered Tamaraw Beach Resort beside Aninuan. Place is not as stiff, View the same, food is good, you stay in cottages instead of rooms. The staff are accommodating before and even after checking out. They allowed us to stay in one of the beachfront huts till 5pm after checking out for free.

Stayed 2 nights here and enjoyed our stay. So if you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing, family friendly resort away from the hustle and bustle then the Aninuan is the resort for you when staying in Puerto Galera. We love the resort and the customer service that we had during our stay.

Good Job to Lez and all the staff who are friendly and always welcoming!
