“Beautiful view of the sunset from the porch :)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2012

We stayed at their Deluxe (D2) room which is right in front of the beach. The view especially during sunset is simply stunning. The room is nice and spacious for two people. It has A/C and mini refrigerator. The only thing I didn't like is the almost see-through curtains combined with the sliding glass and screen doors of the room because we just couldn't control the amount of sunlight coming in the room especially in the afternoon. But, it was kinda nice waking up to a very serene view of the sea in the morning.

They have their own boat for the tours but unfortunately for us, no other guests were taking Tour C the same day as us so Brian, the manager, helped us book a tour in town. Stunning Vistas is very near El Nido town proper. It's just a few minutes ride by tricycle. But you can always walk to town and enjoy the view. But I would not advise anyone to walk at night because even if it's a relatively safe place, the street from town is dark.

They have a restaurant there if you are too lazy to go to town to eat. The food is delicious but nothing extra-ordinary and the price is at par with the other restos in town.

All in all, our stay was nice and I would love to stay here again if given a chance to visit El Nido in the future.

Room Tip: only the deluxe rooms are beach front and farther from street

This is by FAR the best value for money option for the places just outside of El Nido. I stayed a couple of nights in Las Cabanas and visited many options in El Nido town, but this is the best choice if you are on a budget and cannot afford one of the El Nido resorts (the nice ones). In general, the beach in El Nido town is horrible so don't stay there.

Positive:
* Hot water, WIFI and electricity (more than other resorts located out of town).

* Great location (5 minute walk to the best beach of El Nido - near Las Cabanas) and a 10 minute walk to El Nido town (couple of minutes/pesos by Tricycle).

* Great value for money - only RMB 1,250 for a room (which is OK).

Negative:
* The location next to the road is a bit noisy in the morning if you have one of the huts next located in the back of the resort.

* Food is not great, but good options in town and las cabanas.

* Service of the staff needs a lot of improvement. Uninterested youngish people, that seem like they want to cry, not really wanting to do anything for you (even taking your order seems too much) and LOUD!

To conclude, this is a great value option if you just need a good place to sleep and a base for island hopping trips, a walk to the good beach near Las Cabanas and not too far from El Nido town for the bars and restaurants.

After two days of trying to get to El Nido from Puerto Princesa, my partner and I finally made it to Stunning Vistas. We were able to make last minute reservations with no problem at a decent price.

The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk to town and while I found El Nido to be relatively safe, I would suggest walking only during the day until you felt comfortable otherwise. A tricycle ride is just a few pesos. And a majority of our time was spent in town, as there really isn't too much to do around the hotel. It's just a long street with other hotels.

The accommodations in this town are pretty rough, so please prepare yourself. We had a deluxe guestroom on the ocean equipped with a/c. There was a lot of sand and dust in the room and all of the towels were yellow with large brown stains on them. I informed the woman at the desk and they took care of it right away.

There's a restaurant on property, but I didn't have any of the food because nothing looked appetizing. I had a pineapple mango smoothie and it was really sour.

Wi-F is complementary, but the generator kept breaking, so this meant that we had many nights with no wifi, lights, or a/c. Each time it was fixed it would break again minutes later. Very frustrating escpecially because it would happen at 7pm or 8pm and we would just sit around with the flashlight they provided us waiting for the generator to kick back on.

The water is no good anywhere in the town so don't expect to be able to take a quick swim at any given time. Low-tide is during daylight and there's so much seaweed and sea urchins lurking around you don't want to take your chances.

The staff was very nice and a priceless tip is to keep an eye out for a tricycle driver named JoJo. A lot of the tricycle drivers will try to hussle you into buying their tours - which are all probably better than buyng them from one of the companies in town - but JoJo is born and raised in El Nido and knows the best places and people to meet. He helped us get a private island hopping tour and took us to some crazy hidden gems!

Room Tip: I don't think it's necessary to get the suite. It's larger and has a porch facing the oc...

We stayed at SV for three nights in feb 2012 and enjoyed our time there. The views are quite simply stunning as is the service from the manager Brian. It's a 5-10 minute tricycle ride from el nido but the rides are cheap and not hard to come by. There's not much to do nearby so it's fortunate that after a days activities in el nido its fab for relaxing on the viewing deck. Overall a really good place to base yourself near to el nido..

My wife and I stayed at the Stunning Vistas Resort in the town of El Nido on Northern Palawan and had a wonderful time It was our first time in Palawan and we enjoyed our accommodations very much! The rooms were western and very modern and homey.
The manager, Brian, and the rest of the staff there are above 5 stars. The resort was quiet, peaceful and very relaxing. The on site restaurant food was wonderful and filling with large portions.
We were able to go on two tours while there, to some of the islands in the Bacuit Archipelago which were all day tours. Our boatman, Ryan was a lot of fun, very knowledgeable and helpful with our trips and our lunch! (Sorry, I love food!!)
We had no problems with anything during our stay there. Everything seemed to flow smoothly throughout the day. If we needed anything, all we had to do was ask. We were both sad to leave Stunning Vistas; we know next time to spend more time in El Nido and Stunning Vistas Resort.
I do recommend on researching flights directly from Manila to El Nido. Island Transvoyager (ITI) has flights daily I believe, but you will have to deal with them directly through E-mail as there is no one who is authorized to sell tickets on their flights. There is a lot of information on their website at http://www.islandtransvoyager.com/ I also believe that SEAIR has flights to El Nido as well.
It was a six to seven hour ride by shuttle van from Puerto Princesa with the last hour or so on a rough dirt road. I know our next trip there we will fly into El Nido directly. If you elect to use a shuttle or bus, remember that you will use almost two days on the road in travel time.

I will have grand memories and strong desires to return to El Nido and Stunning Vistas Resort.
Thank you again for a wonderful time.

We stayed at Stunning Vistas during Chinese New Year 2012... what a great place! The staff are super helpful and friendly, nothing was too much of an effort for them! The rooms were clean and spacious, and right on the beach. Boat tours (with fantastic tour operators) were so easily available to book at the resort (along with snorkeling gear etc). Excellent stay, will definitely recommend it to others!! :)

At the end of november 2011 we spend one week at the Stunning Vistas Beach Restort and it was the best place we could have chosen.
The rooms are nice and the owners are very helpful! You feel very welcomed by Gary and Eden and they make great efforts to make you feel comfortable.
The Island Hooping Tours you can book are also outstanding. We did two and once we were 4, the other day we were 6 people, which means a lot less crowded than when we had have booked it in the village!
I also appreciated the location a bit outside the village. So we were kind of in the middle between the village where we alwayz went for dinner and one of the most beautiful beaches you can imagine. The best was: the beach was nearly empty!
So, if you seek party and lots of people this might not be the best place for you but if you seek relaxing and nice staff and other guests around you, you should definitely go there! It's a place you won't forget!
