“Hidden beauty”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 May 2014

This is the first stop in our Tao Expedition. One needs to swim from the boat to get in.

If you are not a good swimmer, you can ask your boat crew to help you out. I saw some in life vest being pulled by their boat crew. If your boat got a kayak, it can be used to get in the hole. On windy days, it can be wavy and a bit difficult to get in. On high tides, the entrance may be under water.

It may be a challenge for some to get in there but it is worth it. A little beach with a lagoon hidden in limestone cliffs... Very pretty!

At peak hours, it can be so full. I suppose, it is better to go there around noon as most boat tours visit it in the morning.

“Very beautiful stop on my Island Hopping Tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2014

This place is secret because it is surrounded by rock and only accessible via a cave. Inside there is a white sandy beach and shallow waters mostly rocky. Very interesting experience. It is also referenced as the inspiration Alex Garland novel, and movie with Leonardo Di Caprio, The Beach (2000). Great tour, (C), is what I took and is widely recommended. All day tour 9AM pickup to 4PM return. Note tour prices are controlled by the Government at 1400 Pesos April 2014. Most will negotiate to 1200 Pesos per person. Includes Lunch.

“Secret paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 May 2014

when you are right outside, you cannot imagine how it is. After swimming through the hole, an amazing scene will appear. Highly recommend to visit. Because you have to swim to go inside, if you want to take photo, you need to bring waterproof camera or waterproof bag with you.

“Watch out for the crocodile!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2014

It's a first for me to go to a lagoon accessible only by going through a small opening, to go in we have to sit on the rock, bring our legs over to the other side to avoid hitting our heads on the rock above.

I was captivated by the limestone formations inside. When you made it to this place, do let me know what you think of the 'crocodile' hanging upside down from the side of a rock.

The water inside the Secret Lagoon is mainly rainwater collected by the towering cliffs that surround it.

“Can be too crowded”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2014

secret lagoon beach is a must see! It can get too crowded though, the we had the guides from Caera travel and they were awesome, after the hoard of people we manage to have the place for a good of time taking photos and hanging out.
