This Resorts is the best of the best. We were at Miniloc already for the second time because we and especially our kids loved it so much the first time.
The staff people are all amazing. The Resorts has no kids Club but it is not necessary at all. The staff is the kids Club - they take their time for the kids, entertain them and are their best friends after 1 day. We LOVE this place and we will come back next year for the 3rd time. It is a perfect place for a family holiday!

Room Tip: Try to get a Beach Cottage, all the other Cottages are a little bit dark and the bathrooms a little...

This is as close to paradise I ever have been.

So lovely!

We had a waterfront room with the most perfect out door place with a big sofa. The bed, the bathroom, AC, everything was world class in the room. Wonderful bay view from the room.

We had a package with all food included, meaning we could choose from a large wonderful buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food and supply was distinguished.

The service was in absolut world class! Knew our names when arriving with the motor boat.

Situated in the most beautiful archipelago of El Nido district.

Really enjoyed bringing perfect drinks to the out door place.

Don't go here if you are restless, this is a isolated place and the bar closes down around 10 pm.

They offer free boat rides to Lagen Island, who is another Resort operated by the same company. We went there for lunch, and found it great, but not as cosy as Miniloc.

Perfect place for honey moon or just total relaxtion.

Harking back often.

Room Tip: Choose a room with bay view, not garden view. It will be worth the money.

My extended family spent 3 nights at Miniloc and the general consensus was that the islands are so stunning, and the variety of water activities so broad, that all this combined definitely made up for any shortcomings of the resort.

Having said that, the service at the resort was unsurpassed. Our group was well looked after, particularly by Oliver, our private guide and activity coordinator. He was incredibly friendly, helpful, patient and very well informed about the islands and their flora/fauna. He accommodated our every whim and did so with enthusiasm and warmth.

As to the resort's facilities...having read some of the other reviews, I have to agree that considering the cost, the facilities per se are not particularly impressive. The older accommodations have to upgrade their bathroom facilities. My family stayed at a 2-story water cottage and could hear the family living next door. With the staff quarters located behind us, we sometimes could hear them speaking through our walls. This was not a huge problem, since we were outdoors for most of the day anyway, but again, considering how much we were paying, I would have preferred a quieter room.

My siblings and their families stayed in the newer rooms and loved them.

I was unaware that ordering food a la carte was an option. We purchased a package deal and never thought to ask! Knowing this NOW, I would strongly recommend going a la carte if you are not a big eater, or if you prefer to economize on food.

The snorkeling/diving was just OK. Conditions were not ideal, as we were there in the off season. Our younger set did the "introductory dive course" and were professionally guided. The dive masters were amazingly patient, friendly and made sure that everyone took the safety measures VERY SERIOUSLY but also made sure that they had the time of their lives.

Feeding the 20kg Jacks was also a highlight. As was the visit to the lagoons, caves and various beaches.

I would definitely recommend visiting El Nido.

I selected Miniloc Resort to celebrate my 50th Birthday Celebration and I could not have picked a better place. My family of 12 went to Miniloc in November 2012 to celebrate my birthday and we enjoyed every minute of it from the time our flight arrived to the island to the time we came back to Manila. The islands with its amazing limestone formations, clear blue green water, sensational food and warm hospitality of the staff of Miniloc Resort made this vacation the best !!! Our Kudos to Noel the General Manager and Jovec our Boat Captain - you all made us feel very special. One of the highlights was my birthday dinner, one of my sisters asked the Resort if we could have a semi private place for dinner so we thought we would have an area near the main dining room. Well the resort decided to have my dinner in one of the islands near the main land so we took a short boat ride and landed in this magical island and in the middle was a long table with candlelight across the table and candle light all around the table and our background music were the waves that rushed in and out of shore - it was absolutely memorable and magical. Thank you Noel and Jovic for making it a memorable celebration!!! We will be back.

Room Tip: We liked the beach houses and we had 6 houses.

I and my family just came back from 4D/3N at Miniloc resort. The service was world class...from the moment we departed from the private terminal to Palawan and back to Manila we were pampered with very good service! They gave us options and arrange our activities around the Island and all we had to do was show up on time. Aside from lounging around we did island hopping, kayaking, rock climbing, discovery diving and wind surfing. Snorkeling was okay.

I've been to a few resorts in the Philippines and most of them cannot compete with the service/value that other resorts in south east asia can offer. However, I can truly say that Miniloc Island can compete with other resorts in SEA and I can recommend to people to visit this place as you won't be disappointed.

I gave this resort a rating of 4 because there are 3 things they need to improve on:

1. Sales team
They are quite amateur and slow to respond to bookings and requests making an easy task seem so hard! If we weren't determined to go to El Nido we would have taken our business elsewhere. We also requested for a particular bungalow number which was confirmed but when we arrived we were given a different bungalow. When we asked the resort why this was the case they said that the sales team did not pass on the agreement. hmmmm.

2. Bathrooms
The bathrooms in the over the water bungalows need to be renovated as they are quite outdated.

3. Massage Cabana
The massage cabana was in a passageway so sometimes when noisy guests walk past you are disturbed from your relaxing massage with their chatter.

Those aside our stay at the resort was fantastic. There are so many things to do and even if we stayed 5 days we were not bored even for a minute. The following are a few of the activities we did and ones which I highly recommend (we did a few more things and mind you we had 1-2 days of rain but that did not stop us from exploring!).

1. Snorkelling (many spots to choose from)
Miniloc Island has its own reef so you do not need to go far and their house reef has plenty of healthy corals and fishes plus the water was calm and warm! We also went snorkelling in the small lagoon, Entalula beach club and Lagen Island. The reef at Lagen Island is also quite interesting and was a different landscape from the ones near Miniloc so I strongly suggest not to miss this site. Saw a barracuda here so be careful!

2. Relax at Entalula Beach Club
We spent one of our days in Entalula Beach Club which is an island a few minutes off Miniloc. There are lounge chairs by the shore where you can catch some rays/relax/read a book and a small shack that serves drinks. Snorkelling is also good but you have to go further out for the corals and fishes. Beach was lovely for swimming as well.

3. Have lunch at the entrance of Big Lagoon
Booked to have lunch at the lagoons, the resort will pack a small lunch buffet for you so this is not the usual picnic of sandwiches but a feast! Then after we kayaked around the big lagoon which is a must because you can explore the area better than being on a speedboat plus you avoid the "rush hour" when all other visitors from different resorts are there. While kayaking we went around the areas not accessible by speed boat and experienced the beauty of the lagoon in tranquility. We then kayaked back to the resort which took about 15 mins but don't go back too late as the waves get choppy in the late afternoon. The resort boat checks on you maybe 2 times during the time so if you want to kayak back ask them to take any belongings you do not want on the kayak.

Now to the resort and room facilities.

Overall the resort is clean, orderly and well managed. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are all buffet style and even for picky eaters you will find something to eat. They mostly serve local Filipino food but add a few western and also other asian dishes in the mix.

The staff are so helpful (except for 1 bartender but hey let's just let that pass). One afternoon as we were returning to the hotel we saw that our clothes left hanging in the balcony were in danger of getting wet due to the rain passing through we told the staff who welcomed us back that we needed help putting our clothes back in the room so they don't get wet. And in a matter of a minute of her making that call to housekeeping I saw them running to our bungalow to ensure our clothes weren't drenched! Such genuine sincerity in making sure their guests are looked after.

We were in an over the water bungalow. The room was clean but on the small side. The bathroom was also small with a shower, toilet and sink (no bath). No TV in the room but anybody who stays in the resort and chooses to watch TV instead of being out in the beach is wasting their time/money by doing so. There is a balcony with a couch where you can sit by and watch the sunset or just watch the fishes.

When we first booked our stay at El Nido I thought that it was a bit expensive but after staying there i can say that it was worth every peso. The premium rates is reflected in the management of the resort, training of the staff, available activities, efficiency of the boat transfers plus care of the environment they are in.

Top-notch resort and would definitely go back and urge other travellers to visit as well!!!

Room Tip: Request for over the water bungalow #1 for unaltered view of the beach/cliffs.

I fell in love with this place from the moment I got off the plane. It is by far one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I was looking for a place to decompress after a stressful school year, and it delivered in a major way. The resort itself was kind of rustic and simple, but the views more than made up for that. The food was decent. Everyone on staff seemed concerned that I was traveling alone, and went out of their way to make sure I was ok, and having a good time. Not necessary, but ok. In some ways, this vacation was very scripted. There are specific places and activities they will take you to. They showed you the best of what the place had to offer. Great views, incredible rock formations, great water activities. Not much to do after hours, but I didn't care. I loved it, and would go back again, and again, and again.
