From the time you arrive at the airport in El Nido, Palawan, you will be greeted by the personnel of the resort with a big smile and welcome song. At the arrival lounge, guests are treated to "biko" (native sweet rice) and refreshments. After that, you will be approached by a "coordinator" of the resort, assigned to your family. He will arrange the activities that you want to do during your entire stay at the resort. There are activities that are FREE, such as kayaking, snorkeling, paddle boarding, fish feeding, etc., and going to Lagen Island (another resort belonging to El Nido Resorts group) and Entalula Beach Club (owned also by El Nido Resorts). Tours going to other places of interest in El Nido are for an additional charge. All meals are FREE, however you will have to pay for the drinks that you will order (except service water). If you want to have an exclusive/private dinner or picnic in one of the coves maintained by the resort, you will have to pay for the service fee and drinks, but the food is for free.

From the arrival lounge, guests are transported to the "pier" on board an air conditioner jeepney (less than 5 minutes ride). From the beach, guests will have to walk along a "boardwalk" to a waiting motor boat (less than 5 minutes walk). Be wary of the sand flies (attracted to dark clothing). The motor boat takes the guests to an outrigger boat (less than 5 minutes ride). The outrigger boat will take the guests to Miniloc Island (more or less 45 minutes). Guests will again board a waiting motor boat that will bring them to the resort where smiling staff are waiting with cold refreshments, cold towels and welcome necklace made of coconut leaves. Guests are also treated to a song and dance number of the personnel of the resort. After the orientation, guests are already free to do the activities that they have chosen to do.

The family cliff side room that we had taken has two beds on the first level and a queen size bed on the"loft". It has a very good view of the ocean in front of the resort. It has a veranda with a day bed. From the veranda and from the windows of the room, you can see monkeys dangling from the trees at the side of the mountain. Bathroom is clean and with adequate toiletries. Housekeeping personnel are very efficient and very fast in bringing our requests.

Selection and taste of food are okay.

There are a lot of activities for kids. The resort has no swimming pool, however, guests can use the swimming pool in Lagen Island free of charge.

The private dinner that we had at Danggan beach was great! (Thanks to Rodney!)

The resort itself is a typical island tropical resort with accommodations made of indigenous materials. What sets it apart are the ever smiling and very accommodating personnel of the resort. (Special thanks to Chie, our activity coordinator!).

Wonderful location but the resort needs to be renewed. WERY NOISY STAFF!!!
Customers come there to relax....not to watch the staff playing basket!! The management doesn't care and let them playing....is it normal?!?
We were unable to rest in the afternoon....
As several guests declare, the ECO contribute is only a dream for tourists as the local doesn't care so much. We saw engine boat leaking oil in the Laguna etc etc.
If you can effort this resort price is better you look forward as you will find something better.

Wow ! What can I say ? Heaven on Earth !
Our family of 5 , that's my wife, myself, our 3 kids 14, 12 and 8 years of age had a totally grand time there.
Our flight from Manila to Palawan was smooth, so was our check in btw, we were met by our guide ( each group has your own guide ) who took us to our boat and he was our guide for the duration of our stay.
Snorkeling, kayaking, stand up board paddling... We even had our kids try the Discover Scuba Diving experience, it's a 45 minute dive up to 6 meters in the resort reef and it was awesome.
We initially booked for a family garden cottage since it was the cheapest but upon learning that there were 2 deluxe sea view rooms available we decided to splurge and transfer rooms.
Food is good, variety is good, no TV but you won't miss it, wifi in public areas is available but spotty at best...
We stayed a total of 5 days and 4 nights and wished we had stayed 2 weeks instead, we also had an opportunity to visit their sister resort Lagen, nice... But it reminded me of the Club House of my local golf club, everything is cemented, too sterile... It does not have the homey, native, Robinson Crusoe ambiance that Miniloc has...
We are already planning our next trip to Miniloc, and this time we might stay 2 weeks !

So, I won't go into the details, but safe to say our babymoon got off to a rather shaky start. Torrential downpours, flood warnings. Thailand wasn't playing ball.

In the space of 24 hours, jetlagged and more than a little peeved, we managed to book an entirely new holiday from the safety of our room in Koh Samui as the rain hurled itself at our villa window. (quick shout out to Six Senses in Koh Samui for being incredibly understanding and helping us sort everything out).

Cut to 24 hours after that - a 24 hours that included 3 flights, 2 taxi rides, a boat ride, and a fair bit of haggling - and we found ourselves staring in disbelief as our boat coasted into El Nido Resort on Miniloc Island in the Philippines. I won't lie - there were tears. Tears of joy. After the past 2 days experience, El Nido is precisely what you want to see. A stunning resort in a bay, surrounded by beautiful forest and crystal blue sea. Wow.

It may be slightly tricky to get to (but in no way should that be something that puts you off), but it's worth it a hundred times over. Hospitality to rival any resort, brilliant trips that simply take you to places rather than make you act as a group, luxurious accommodation, but the real jewel in their offering is the geography of the area. This is a place of unbeliveable beauty.

A few tips: you can stay at Lagen Island Resort (well worth it) after the 4pm boat back to Miniloc. Just ask to be picked up later. Try and get a boat back at sunset - it's a phenomenal experience. Also, do the dinner for two, and try and get it in Big Lagoon. Super romantic! Intalula was the best beach for us, and probably the best snorkeling. Clown fish everywhere! Watch out for jellyfish - there were quite a few when we were there.

Oh, and if anyone is wondering if it's safe for a babymoon, being slightly remote, then don't worry. They have a resident doctor, and are fully prepared for any eventuality.

Think that's it. I really really really can't recommend this place enough. It was everything we wanted our babymoon to be, so the fact that we lucked onto it (albeit through bad luck with the weather in Thailand) made it even better.

Go. You won't regret it.

Room Tip: Try and get one of the Deluxe Seaview rooms. We were upgraded to this because we booked through Splendia ;-)

We have been to some amazing islands in the Maldives, but Miniloc was as good if not better. The incredible welcome with all the staff singing to us. The wonderful room with great views, the incredible buffet for breakfast and dinner, the islands - it is all amazing. They take you on trips with spot on timing, to incredible islands where you can be totally alone on a beautiful beach. Then they collect you at the time promised - wonderful organisation! We had a BBQ on a beautiful beach with all fresh ingredients. The staff were the best - always smiling - always helpful - then as we were leaving they sung to us again and kept waving to us until we were out of sight. What an incredible hotel - if you want the best then go to this hotel!

Room Tip: On the beach facing the sea.
