we stayed 1 week and felt really good in this small family kept hotel. we had room with a balcony, it was quite small, but acceptable for 2. the hotel is quite new, so everything was clean and in a good condition. they have nice terrace on the top. location is also good, very close to the center or harbor in el nido.

After making it to El Nido from Coron, (in what could be loosely termed a 'boat ' NOT a ferry as was described to me when I bought my ticket ), I left my bags with the coast guard who have a little office at the entrance to the port and were really friendly , I then spent an hour or so trying to find a room, the prices in town are really expensive , over 2500p for a sea view in one of the hotels in the main area, and actually a lot were full !
I eventually settled on Dayunan El Nido Tourist Inn hotel which is to the right of the main town, and port ,(as you dock ), it's a 3 storey new building only open since December 2013 , I'd read the reviews on agoda which didn't rate it very highly, but I thought I'd go and have a look as I was right next to it . I looked at the deluxe and the basic room ,there's nothing too different between them, there both small and clean with comfortable double bed, but the deluxe has fantastic views over the bay and with the balcony to sit on was my preference. At this stage in my travels I'm filtering out the noisy cockerels , but there are some arround the hotel, and it's no use complaining about them as there never far away from any hotel in the philipines , other than the birds the hotel was really quiet, and for the money excellent value. They put out free tea coffee ,(and ovaltine?),each morning and I also had a small breakfast for 100p which they brought to my room so I had that on the balcony !
The young girl that runs this hotel is superb and really switched on , I got the deluxe room for 1850p inc breakfast per night, but the hotel was fairly quiet and it took me a lot of haggling. When I left it was full ! El nido does not have an ATM so make sure you have cash here ! I only had enough to pay cash for one night so had to book a room on agoda for the other .(wifi is ok but not fantastic )
So a really nice hotel on the front, slightly away from the main town , but literally 5 minutes walk , and a better price than in the town. I'd stay here again !
If your getting a bus from here to puerto princessa , I'd get a tricycle up to the bus station ,(50p), and either get the big aircon bus 6 hours for 370p very comfortable apart from all the stops or mini van 450p ! Don't bother with the travel companies in the town , there's loads of busses ! Also if your going on the various island tours don't forget to haggle , I paid 1000 inc snorkel etc , this was the c tour , and should have been 1400p ,but personally speaking apart from the lunch on the beach, was nothing fantastic and I wouldn't bother !

Room Tip: Top floor front for best views

The hotel is located in the city center. Although the hotel is made a short time ago, and all of the installation is very poorly done, especially drain water from the toilets. Do not close the windows because when you get back the whole room stinks. No breakfast, but one day they are very friendly to us and cooked up some eggs and served with plates and cutlery. On the fourth floor is the porch, and there you can have breakfast what you buy in the shops near the hotel.
El Nido is not a big city, and two or three days here is enough. The city itself does not have a clean beach, but there are several beaches nearby that you can go with tricycle or boat.Food in El Nido is good and you can enjoy fresh seafood delicacies. Only be sure and tell the cook when they grilled fish that they do not burn it. They overdo it because the skin of the fish do not eat.
Another good way to prepare fish is , in aluminium foil. Try everything and enjoy.

1000 php/ night and you got a lot for that. The rooms are quite small but clean and fresh and the hotel feels modern. It is a backpackeroption but you get a lot for that. Outside the rooms there are chairs and some kind of 'balcony'. We just stayed here one night and then moved to Waterfront Hotel but we regretted that.
The wifi was meh, just worked in the reception but I guess that's the case for whole El Nido.
