I came to know about Austria's Place when I was wondering around the streets of El-Nido. It is located right behind the lovely El Nido Boutique & Artcafe so you can expect some loud music coming from that direction late at night. (I didn't bother me at all). But what really bothers me is the vicious attack of the native mosquitoes there. They sure know how to bombard a fresh new blood in all corners to the max. Even my all-time reliable insect repellent failed to work against them. I felt like I was literally drawn of almost 1 litre of blood while I was there haha! Fan-room is basic and accepted for my needs. Need to request if you want to change sheets. Shared toilets and shower rooms are cramped and quite dirty.
They also serve very delicious and affordable set meals of 99 pesos, consisting a meat, vegetable, soup of the day and a small slice of fruit. (Note: Really small servings) If you are not full, the Art cafe is just in front. Free flow of plain water as well.
Very friendly staffs manning this family-run hostel.More
