Marina De Bay
Reviewed 25 September 2009

just stayed there a few weeks ago at marina de bay palawan. and i could very well say that its worth every penny, eventhough its not expensive to stay there. Very nice villas, spacious and could accomodate a few people, the villas are clean and are situated very near the water so in the morning its very calming to just hear the waves crashing.although they need to make a few renovations. the people here are great they made our stay very comfortable and hassle free. coordinated my itinerary with joanne weeks before so we were able to go to the must see places even if we just stayed there for just 2 1/2 days, and they are very accomodating to our requests. if your looking for a quiet place to relax and de-stress this is the place. but if you miss the hustle and bustle of the city they provide service at night from 6-9pm. so we were able to dine at the most reccommended restaurants at puerto princesa, ka lui and kinabuchs. and well it exceeded our expectations, im not that fond of seafood, but the food in those restaurants, were well, awesome! puerto princesa is a great place to visit, clean, nice people, a great tourist destination.

A sprawling restful paradise with a sense of temperament and lure; it consists of the carcass of an old marina and has several brick bungalows with commodious and convivial interiors. The chalets are dramatic with mottled veranda small enough to feel cozy and intimate but with enough space to chill out on your own if you chose. There’s also a wooden walkway to an eccentric t-house raised above the water on stilts. This is a tad where you can find a moment to relax, get a glimpse of sunset in a beautiful yet ominous sky and catch a spectacular panoramic view of Marina de Bay by night. One way or another, I think this place won’t be the same with one less spot to enjoy a delicious margarita. To up the romance factor you can have a dinner in the ruins of the marina or treat your beloved to an evening walk next time you’re in the area. There are plenty of extra touches that make a stay here memorable.

LOCATION: The view from the “T-house”, the dining area, of Marina de Bay is breathtakingly gorgeous! I still remember how peaceful and relaxing it feels while eating our sumptuous dinner at the T-house… under the stars and in the middle of the sea! This is just one of the wonderful experiences people would miss if they choose to stay over the usual hotels or inns in the busy city of Palawan.

ACCOMODATION: The room and facilities were clean with great value for money. It looks and feels "native" with its nipa hut roof and brick wall. The villas are air-conditioned and are equipped with television sets and a queen size bed with a pull-out. The villa includes a bath tub in the bathroom with hot and cold shower, a mini-refrigerator, free unlimited WIFI access, and a private veranda with a spectacular view of the bay. The private veranda is one of my fave spot! The bathroom is clean and spacious.

SERVICE: The service was great. All the members of the staff were nice and very accommodating. A representative from Marina de Bay was waiting for us at the arrival area when we got in the airport. She was standing in front of the door, holding a placard with my name on it making sure we’d easily see her. Marina de Bay has their own van and driver for customers to be picked up from the airport and for those who wants to go around the city even on night time. Everyone from the staff was welcoming and pleasant, including Manong driver. He offered us suggestions where to go around the city aside from the usual places included in the Palawan city tour package. We also made some requests regarding the schedule of our Honda bay and underground package tour, which the staff and management gladly granted. I must say, even the owner’s daughter who was at the resort during our stay was also friendly.

FOOD: Food was just amazing. It was always served hot and fresh. The presentation was very appetizing. The meal is always balanced with fresh fruits, delicious vegetables, hot soup, yummy fish and sea foods, plus chicken, beef or pork. On our first day, we had our buffet lunch at Legend Hotel and in my opinion; Marina’s food is better than what was served at the hotel. Food served at Marina de Bay is always more than what we could finish. You wouldn’t want to dine out the resort after you try their food!

A quiet place that's about an hour and a half out of Manila via plane. Our staff was friendly, but the kitchen was slow when cooking our food. But, still it was very relaxing just to stare out into the bay during a clear day.
